Left the local jeweler with 50's Longines

My local Jeweler has an annual "estate sale" and they bring out all the neat stuff you normally don't see. Well, this gold Longines caught my eye so I ended up adding to the booty of the day.
I have no clue what it is or but I just love the classic and very unique styling!
Anyone here school me on my find? Winds/runs like a dream.. needs a little cleaning but here she is:
