Help and advice
Dear Members,
I recently was left this watch which I believe has a Zenith movement in a Dennison gold case dating around 1918/1920 having sent the watch back to Zenith to see if they can restore it only to be told it is unlikely they can do the work due to lack of available parts and some needing replacing due to age and wear. Your thoughts on what I might do or contact in the hope that I can find someone with the knowledge and skills needed to do the work surely there is someone out there who can restore this watch. any help and views welcome Kind regards Walter |

Sure but it'll cost you a small fortune, except if you have a big sentimental attachment to the watch I would avoid paying a ton of money to do it...

Contact Bendan Hoey (www.webwatchmaker.com) and see what he says.
Alternatively try Robert Horan (www.roberthoran.eu), who's in France. |

I understand Zenith's response but I still hate to see it.

Zenith
Dear Members,
Please forgive the long delay in updating the last post regarding the the repair and overhaul of this watch which dates from aroun 1918. I contacted Brendan Hoey as advised and thank my lucky stars as he not only overhauled the watch but has serviced a number of watches since this post all with great results. I can’t say enough good things about this watchmaker as he has never let me down and I strongly recommend his services to anyone who is looking for top quality service or repair of wrist watches or pocket watches I look forward to hearing your views Walter |
