Need help for 6542

Hi guys,

My name is JJ and i am from Singapore. Pls bear with me.

I have a chance to purchase a 6542 locally. Being very new to vintages, i hope you guys can give some opinions on the below photos.

A fellow collector friend has given his views that the watch seems period correct based on the limited photos available. The only sure way is to test the dial and bezel separately with a Geiger counter. Also to check on engraved numbers between lugs and movement. Those are very good and important advice from him. He is also uncomfortable with the papers and suspect those were put together for the watch. And i appreciate totally.

I will get a chance to view this pc in person. Any further advice from you guys will be appreciated. Like photos of how the fronts between lugs should look like or what else to look out for. Any discrepancies you notice from these limited photos, kindly also help highlight here.

Based on my friend's advice, i am thinking of offering based on a pc without papers. Any kind souls can kindly pm me on what is a fair offer to seller on a private deal based on condition below?

Seller sounds and seem to be a honest guy as well. But still it is hell a lot of money to base it on faith.Thank you in advance and sorry for so many questions on my first few posts.

What were you considering as a price offer?

I second your expert's advice, the papers don't look right to me as the background (behind the writing) should have a green wallpaper with white coronets. The coloring of the papers, even as old as they are, are not consistent with what I have seen.

The red hang tag is incorrect, the case back sticker - come on - and the green vinyl folio is from another era, then you have the warranty document.

That "set" is cobbled together.

There’s another bezel in the box?

Thank you Springer for the detailed breakdown of the wrong items. Appreciate it.

The other bezel is not for sale according to seller.

Thanks all. Will give this watch a pass.

Why pass on a nice Watch because the papers are incorrect?

Reason being, seller will most likelynot be willing to lower price to level without papers.

Also a deep scratch across the serial number between lugs. Rendering the top of the first few digits unclear.
