Gold movements

FP Journe is probably the most well known brand with solid gold movements, but are there any other brands / watches that have done the same?

The frost versions of the MB&F LM101 have gold movements.

This is true of everyone's comments, except mine.

The VC movement I mentioned is solid gold. That's the only example that came immediately to mind apart from the well-known one of FPJ. FPJ at one point had a solid gold dial, silvered, with the numerals embossed and then polished down to expose the rose gold. A watch such as this, fitted with FPJ's excellent solid rose gold bracelet, would be almost entirely gold, from bracelet to case to movement to dial. I have the watch but chose not to get the bracelet...

Solid gold escapement bridges are available from RGM as an option, but I don't believe they have done a watch with the whole movement in solid gold. Plated gold is available, of course.

For clarity, the Breguet movement pictured in another post, while beautiful, is not solid gold.

The movement is the very vintage and classic Cal 1003, I believe, with plates and bridges in a yellow gold alloy.



It was last in Les Historique 1955

Apols you are absolutely right - I miss the word "solid" in OP's post

Wow, that VC is some real watch goodness right there. I knew FP Journe was unique but I didn't know solid gold movements were THAT unique!

Reverso Septantieme (70th anniversary) limited edition with caliber 879 in solid 18K rose and white gold comes to mind.
