Okay, guys....how come Bluesy still weighs more than Platty?

Okay, okay, I did it again!!!

Weighed Platty this morning on the SAME 3 electronic scales as I did BLUESY last week....

Weight of Bluesy = 150 grams

Weight of Platty = 146 grams

Okay so herein lies the confusion...

Bluesy has HOLLOW centre links, but they are 18 K gold.

Platty has SOLID centre links, but they are steel.

I know for a fact that Platty's bezel weighs 10 grams (according to Jocke); but not sure how much Bluesy's bezel weighs.

Platty has a normal clasp, but Bluesy has the diver extension links.

Question: Where the hell does Bluesy get the extra 4 grams from?

Something for you tossers to ponder over the weekend?

Cheers - JJ

Probably from the divers extension?

I have been on these boards for a few months, but question for the general forum. What is the average number of new posts, that JJ generates immediately after collecting a new timepiece?

I was here when he was gifted the greenie, but I don't call this many post.

Is there a scientific corrolation between the number of new threads, and the ownership duration before he flips it? Just tryinf to understand this a little better.

And what is this "tossers" club I here so much about?

The thicker glass and thicker back on the sub can easily account for the weight difference.

JJ, it must be all the ego Bluesy is carrying around.

4 grams ain't much difference, and gold is much more dense than steel. As Chip pointed out, the crystal and caseback is heavier built on the Sub.

Is it maybe the grit & sweat that Bluesy has accumulated over time, worrying if he was the next to be "Flipped" ? That could account for an extar few grams, give or take...gha

I guess it is due to the gold! Although the centre links of the TT Blue Sub are hollow, gold is still heavier than steel.

Just curious, but I noticed you weighed your greenie a few times.
Do you do this to see if you are wearing out the watch? I imagine with time, than the metal will wear down, and you might actually loose a gram here or there.

I always make it a habit of weighing all my new watches. It's just a habit I've developed over the years. I know it's absolutely of no importance, but it does give me a kinda thrill.

Cheers - JJ

Actually, weighing the watch may be a check of authenticity.
Each TT Bluesy will come from the factory with an identified weight.
My guess is the watches coming from China are not the same weight.
Of course if you relish the additional entertainment you receive at the Cleavage -R-Us Authorized Rolex Dealer and that is the only way you purchase, perhaps the weight isn't of any significance.

JJ, take the 2 bracelets off and weigh them both, then weigh both watches without the bracelet.

Good point, actually. The Sub case is I think at least 2 mm thicker.
