I think this is a rare occurrence though.

How long is a piece of string? You're asking a question for which the answer has no meaning that's relevant to your situation.

Based on at least US dealers, is it not the same basic waiting period for all dealers to get these from Rolex? Does a Beverly Hill's dealer get orders filled quicker then a Boise, Idaho dealer simply based on past sales and revenue?

Awesome! Can’t do that with ceramic!!! (At least I can’t change ceramic inserts, nor can anyone I know except Rolex. And sometimes even Rolex breaks the ceramic, taking them in and out of the bezel).

Who would have thought prophetic words would proclaim two new ceramic GMTs. This thread could be quite interesting in the next few months. Almost a Pepsi and Coke resurrection by Rolex!!!

I’m anxious to see the 3285 make it’s way to the LN and BLNR maybe next year? Two years? With the amount of these getting flipped for $9-$11k right now (BLNR) and low prices/low discounts on GMT’s in general, I’m curious what’s going to shake out over the next 12-18 months.

I can’t wait to get mine sooner than later this year, probably an LN (new) if the 3285 is still a year or two out, beyond the Pepsi.

By the way, can someone enlighten me on why the GMT Master II has a bi-directional rotating bezel? I mean most GMT watch have a 24hrs display but don't need the bezel to be rotating. Does it serve any purpose other than being fanciful?

This lets you check a 3rd timezone. If you're in NYC, and you're coworker is in London, then you're engineering team is in China, you can check NYC, UTC, and then HK time all in one go. There are loads of videos on this, which help on functionality.

Just love the different looks available for one watch , the insert options , the colour choices , differences in font styles & also bracelet options oyster or jubilee have got to make 5 digit GMTs the most versatile watch Rolex have ever made .
