2007 GMT II SS ceramic: Scratched Cyclops !
I've somehow managed to ding the cyclops on my recently acquired GMT II SS ceramic. Not a huge mark or anything like that but the scratch is noticeable if you look closely and does slightly impair the view of the date from certain angles.
Although this is the highest point on the face and (I suppose) prone to knocks, I would have thought the glass would be a lot more robust... Just wondered if anyone else had same problem with this or any other model ? and if there is anything Rolex can do under the warranty etc. ? |

wow....havent heard of a scratched cyclops in such a short period of time. The only thing that damaged my crystal on my sub was overhead mig welding, without gloves. Can you post a pic of this scratch?
Also, a new cystal (with cylops) is about $125 parts and labor....not the end of the world fortuantely. :) |

Welcome to TRF!
Sorry to hear about your mishap! Anyway, it can be fixed since the cyclops is actually glued onto the crystal and can be taken off and be exchanged for a new one. Alternatively, you can get a fresh crystal, but that would of course be more expensive, and the LEC (Laser Etched Coronet) that you can see with a loupe at 6 o' clock would get an "S" standing for "(S)ervice" inside the Coronet. Good luck!

That's very interesting. How did you hear about that? Is there anything you don't know about these watches?
