Explorers vs Milgauss

Hi guys,

As I previously mentioned, I am looking to get another Rolex.
I love the GMT 2c, but would like something else that I can switch it up with (preferrably lighter and different looking)

I have been looking at getting the new Milgauss, but cannot decide if its worth the extra 2-3k over an Explorer 1 or Explorer 2?

My Gmt has polished centre links, which seem to show scratches far easier then a brushed link, I think the Milgauss has the same kind of bracelet, where as the explorers are matt/brushed.

What would you guys suggest? Do you think the Milgauss is worth the extra cash?

Thanks once again,

Brett

in my opinion, the explorer will always be there at any time, but the milgauss probably wont.. u never know what rolex has plans for their marketing strategy.. but i would go with the milgauss since it is a new watch.. and if i were to get a milgauss id get the GV because in my personal opinion i like the green saphire, and it is rolex's newest creation..

but at the end of the day the watch will be on ur wrist and not mine.. just my 2 cent

good luck chosing

My vote would go to the Explorer II, WHITE dial!

Very nice and slim model (which the Milgauss isn't...slim, that is!).

Also, a WHITE dial would give you a totally different look.

Just my 2 cents.

But when all comes to all, you need to try on both models and see which one of them "smiles" back at you.

Good luck!

First let me say I can't wait to get the Milgauss.

Having said that, the Milgauss is not going to lighter or slimmer than the GMT IIc. Photos I've seen in side view reveal it to be a rather thick watch with substance.

Given your criteria the EXP would seen to fit better. BUT, as has been said try them on first. Sometimes the actual vewing and wearing changes things. LOL!

Would you recommend getting the Green crystal model?

If you can, that would be the wise choice for value.

I went with the white Exp II for the contrast to my black dial SD. I enjoy switching back and forth for variety.

Btw, the Exp II is a very light, comfortable watch on the wrist. I find a white dial watch easier to read, too. And I prefer brushed rather than polished links.

Having said that, I think the best advice is for you to try on both watches, preferably during the same visit to your AD, and decide which one you like the most.
