If Rolex has disgraced you, do not try another brand because you would cry. Rolex is for me the best watch in the world. Enjoy it!

Regarding the loupe comments , Don’t get the wrong idea I wasn’t one of those who immediately sat with a magnifier examining the watch seeking out flaws, I noticed these things with my eyes in hand then took the photos on my phone for a closer look.

The mark on the gold dosnt bother me as much as the cyclops , just didn’t expect to see things like this on a £10k watch and not sure if it’s something I should be going to RSC about or if it’s the norm

So you were finally able to afford one and instead of enjoying your watch you nitpick? I know it costs a lot but you need to get over it. I don’t know how you would even buy a new car if you’re this picky.

Rolex is a toolwatch, should you use microscope so have you to look on other brands and use a bigger wallet.

Now you noticed these imperfections, bring it to your RSC...but once you get that watch back, put away the loupe

Well, that’s a matter of definitions, and that would be one very funny court session to follow. We often joke about how ridiculous some of the lawsuits are “over there”, but there’s no way a Rolex legal advisor would recommend to ditch the perfect branding on their website and in tech advertisement.

I'm stunned at the replies to this..

I'd expect perfection from a 10k watch, I don't think many can afford to throw money around for a luxury piece and find flaws?

What about imperfections you can't see, inside etc.

I'd have that back to Rolex in a heartbeat..

I just wear the watch and enjoy it for what it is...and I also echo the sentiment of others; put away the loupe lol.

You have 3 choices.
1. See if RSC will consider these manufacturing defects and fix them.
2. Wear it and be happy.
3. Sell it and move on.

Thanks , I think I agree.

For the RSC option , would it just be a case of walking in next time I’m in London and someone would look and see if they would fix them ?

I’m at the opposite end of the country but I’m visiting London for New Years so would be able to visit in person then if not before.

Agree.

My $100 invicta dial has not a single flaw.

I'd expect my $10k rolex to at least be s good as the $100 invicta.

If it bothers you (and I can see why it would at that price) take it back to your AD who can return it to RSC who will try to fix it for you; but be aware that you may end up with more issues as a result.
If it really bothers you, push for your AD to replace / refund your watch with one that you are happy with.
Just as an aside, following an earlier post about alignment on an Explorer I've double checked my two Rolex and can see no problems with either.
However (combined) they cost less than yours so I can certainly see why you wouldn't be happy when the promotional material promises perfection.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

OP, please note something, I have looked at at least Seven different sub Cs and most of them were PM models, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, the Pearl/marker did not fall or line up exactly on the 12:00 marker. If you move them a bit before it passes/clicks then it may fall exactly on it, but don't stress about these things ....go see the TS with a 116618LB go into your local AD, and send me a picture that shows perfect alignment on the 12-hour at a point where the bezel clicks in it's position after going over the balls.

You have an amazing watch, but it's not perfect.

With that said, however, to be honest, the blemish or imperfection on the 12:00 hour (left side) marker is a little bit concerning.

I misread your post: my rehaut and marker lines up fine. I was talking about the Pearl and 1200 clock, which is the way it is on every Rolex subC that I have seen.

I would go back to the AD and then RSC. Sorry.

If you use a tad bit of force and turn the bezel counter-clockwise, it'll line up....at least a lot closer than it currently is. Mine has the same issue and it drove me bonkers even though I tried my best to let it go. I finally called an AD near my home and the watchmaker instructed me to do the same. He said sometimes the click spring doesn't quite set deep in the gears/teeth like it's supposed to. It's not a perfect fix, but it's pretty darn close. My OCD still notices, but I really have to give it a long look to see it.

I would NOT use force on the uni bezel to spin it clockwise.

When you say use Force to spin it counterclockwise, it doesn't need any Force to spin counterclockwise. Do you mean Force down on the bezel while you spin it in the direction it's intended to spend?

Oh, come now!

As far as Rolex goes, there are tolerances, as with anything ever built.

You can blow up a picture of anything enough to expose "flaws."

Nothing is perfect--nothing.

Rehaut alignment was just showing the first one I viewed , and was an issue I saw on 4 other watches until I found the one I have bought that lined up correctly , issue I have now is the mark on the gold 12 triangle which the AD pretty much denied existed as they couldn't see it and the cyclops possibly crooked.

I could live with the mark on the gold as its not immediately visible unless under certain light but coupled with the cyclops i just feel let down.

Using a loupe after you buy is a problem but it's mandatory before. I have never bought a new watch without my loupe and never complained after the purchase. What a strange coincidence.

There is NO such thing as perfection unless God himself hand crafted it. I think for being human made its pretty darn good.

Do others think the cyclops is crooked or is it just me ?

I wouldn't like to travel back to the AD only for them to say there is no issue.

Im wondering how best to approach it if I do want it sorted, with the photo of the mark on the gold they can no longer deny it is there , but will probably say it is normal , the tech guy in store told me how they are hand polished and what im seeing may just be where it is not quiet level.

The cyclops again I would expect them to say it is within spec , would I likley have more luck waiting and going into RSC next time im near london ?

Your dial needs to be rotated slightly with respect to the case. I don't know if the mounting feet can be persuaded to make the degree or so adjustment, or if the dial will require replacement.

Everyone yammering "put away the loupe" isn't paying attention. There's a minute mark every 6 degrees and a rehaut engraving character every 6 degrees. As with a vernier, even slight misalignments are noticeable without any magnification.

The same misalignment is also visible in the date window.

Get it fixed. The human eye is very sensitive to angular misalignment. Especially on a watch, where angular displacement is how it presents information! That's literally what your eye is looking for when you read the time.

Honestly I see nothing wrong with your cyclops

If the OP really wants to drive himself crazy, he should look at it under 90x microscope magnification.

Perfection to the normal human eye is much different than perfection under intense magnification.

Rolex has very good quality control. Certainly, human error could come into play, but with enough magnification, that watch will have many molecules and atoms that aren't aligned perfectly so as to create a pleasing appearance to the viewer peering through the microscope.

Huge macro photos really create a different perspective from what the watch actually is.

the rehaut is fine, that first pic was an example of the common issue with the other watches i looked at before buying this one.

Yup the loupe guys comments arnt paying attention , ive posted 2 or 3 times that these two things i am worried about , the mark on the gold and cyclops where visible from inspecting the watch with my eyes , the photos i have posted are simple mobile phone pictures show here.

If these warrant pushing to get them fixed , how do you think best to go about it ? The AD said they couldnt see the mark on the gold at the time.
