All new limited edition Heritage collection w/ new mvt.
2nd time they’re using their new hi beat 9SA5. I’m excited for it. I may not get one but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.
Now for the 9RA5 models please! https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/sp...rsary/#SLGH003 |

If they took off the “Grand Seiko” “Automatic” and “80 Hours” I’d be a buyer
Would also like date complication removed or changed to a date wheel around the dial with a crescent hand |

Beautiful watch, but yeah, why are brands starting to print the power reserve on the dial now?

2 steps forward 1 step back.
They look like they're trying to copy the exact Tissot I'm wearing right now. *The Tissot actually looks even cleaner* |

This 'too thick' mantra seems to have started with some people wanting smaller divers, which I'm sure will be added to the range eventually - perhaps next year. People don't seem to be researching the brand, and just parroting what they hear/read elsewhere.

The H201 is Diameter 40.2mm × Thickness 13.0mm
The H003 is Diameter 40.0mm × Thickness 11.7mm Purely based on what GS has listed that's 10% thinner which is sort of a big deal to me and other folks who prefer thinner watches. It's all about the refinement and little details with me. I know how much work went into cutting out 10% of of the bulk and appreciate it. I'm hoping for an E205 update with new 9RA5. Add a newer slimmer more refined case, more colorful dial, and with an updated bracelet. Diameter 41mm × Thickness 13.8mm => get this down to 13.0 or slimmer for the win. |

My preferred spec would be closer to 42x11.5 so these 13.8mm cases are just a bit chonk for my liking. |

I do think that when GS sort out their divers they will be on to an absolute winner. It's good to have a couple of large options (say 45ish mm, perhaps in Ti), but if they put out something in steel at around 41-42mm with a more refined diver's clasp it would be a big hit. I also think we'll see a new 40-41mm Hi-Beat GMT with either a rotating or fixed 24hr (ceramic) bezel at some point.

Not a copy. I was just thinking I like this new GS and if I were to buy it, it would be extremely similar to the watch I already have. Blue dial, polished center links, power reserve text, stick indices, windowed date. It's got all the same pieces just slightly different and likely much better quality on the GS.
Maybe this style is my "type" I really don't like date windows though. I feel like I'm in a very small minority with that preference. I like time, power reserve, moonphase, even date wheels around the dial but not date windows. |

I like it quite a bit and I'd like one. Just cost prohibitive for me at this time.
Would like to see it around $5800 like the H201 |

The red kills this one for me, but I like that they're expanding the collection with the new caliber and that case back... so good.

Silver and blue is a good combination. Gold on blue is good too. They probably should have gone full gold on blue for the dial. I'm partial to olive/green/blue/gold/orange color schemes. If this were olive or silver dial with gold/orange applique I'm there. And less text. For goodness' sake don't repeat the name of the company on the dial! "GS, Grand Seiko" just kills me from an aesthetics standpoint. Just state your name once GS, once! Rolex does it twice because their hallmark is a crown and not text. That's why it works with them and not you. *rant off |

Thinning the case is a huge step in the right direction.
Would have liked a smaller case diameter, but the lug-to-lug looks decent, probably 46 or 47mm. Red second hand and obnoxious text at 6 o'clock kill the dial. Unfortunate. Any details on the bracelet?? If microadjustment is missing, then that would be even more disappointing. Personally I dont mind the redundancy of "GS" and "Grand Seiko". That's like saying the Omega symbol followed by "Omega" is redundant... technically Omega is written twice |

The difference is one uses a hallmark symbol then their name. The other just abbreviated their name then wrote their name again. Personally I’m a no text allowed on a dial guy who when it’s doubled down on its :(
The dial should say *grand Seiko lion hallmark at top* then one line of text at bottom at most that provides intrigue. In this case they could put “Hi-Beat” without the 36000. That provided everything you need to know and nothing you don’t. Dial text is makeup; less is more. |
