Best price: Dubai or Singapore?
Hello Folks
It's my first post so excuse me if I am going over old ground here. I'm travelling from Scotland to New Zealand in early March. I have not yet purchased my flights. On route I would like to buy a Rolex DateJust in Rolesor. My questions are: 1. Where would I be likely to get the best price, Dubai or Singapore? 2. Is the saving I would make significant, compared to what I would pay in the UK or NZ? Cheers Kev |

Welcome to TRF, Kev!
I would buy the watch in Dubai from an AD. And you would definately experience lower prices than in the UK. Going to New Zealand? Maybe you can meet JJ! Have a nice trip!

I have heard that there is a AD in the airport in Dubai. If so, I would buy there only because it would be duty free. I bought my Sea Dweller and Yachmaster in Singapore at the Hour Glass on Orchard Rd. Depending on model, you will get a discount, and you get to claim sales tax on your way out of the country at the airport.

This is 4 months old but...There is an AD at Dubai airport and there's a nice selection gold and tt models, dj and the like but no ss sport models (from what I saw in Sept last year). If you were looking for a sub or the new gmt in ss then I think you'll be disappointed. Maybe if you contact them before you arrive they might be able to get the watch in for you.

You can contact Dubai Duty Free on Customer.Service@ddf.ae and their website is http://www.dubaidutyfree.com
I've always found them to be very professional and efficient. If you email them with your requirements before flying they will contact you with price and availability. |
