I agree.

I was jolted the first time I saw that.

This is a great thread.

As a newer member, I didn't have the opportunity to get to know him like other folks. But I remember he was one of the first people to greet me.

And, yes, it is very jarring to see the 'offline' and realize he won't be completely with us again. But it sure is nice to see his old posts resurface.

Wow JJ's first post. It's hard to believe he's not with us any longer. Has Eddie heard anything on how JJ's wife & daughters are doing?

I just found out today. Sad to hear he is gone. He was always very accomodating to new members and made one feel at home here right away.

RIP, Buddy. We will all keep your memory alive. Those we love and those we knew are sustained only by our memories of the friendship, joy and laughter they brought.

Interesting to see the posts in the early years of TRF and also to see how many of those early posters have gone on to become Mods

RIP JJ

I noticed JJ's pic in a few signatures that many of the regs here use. I read a bit of the thread stickied in this section of the forum chronicling his illness and how things were progressing with that.

He clearly was a very well-respected guy and seemed to be very classy and personable, and he had great Rolex knowledge. I regret not having been here on the forum while he still was, and I wish his loved ones & friends the best. He's obviously very missed. Thanks.

He may not be the king, but I consider him the TRF Godfather.
I only wish I could have been around to exchange words with this fine individual. I've spent numerous hours reading some of his posts... What a great human being.

Here hereif there is an afterlife and I believe that there is and if I'm lucky enough to go there when I die (someone might have to leave me in the back door!) after I visit with friends and relatives I have some dogs to walk and some cats to rub then JJ and I are going to sit down for a couple of drinks and talk watches for a long time.

I signed up too late to be able to meet JJ but I have read a lot of his posts and he sure made TRF a special place. It's hard to see that wonderful people like him lose a fight to this *&%@£ disease.
I'm glad that his spirit lives on and he keeps being remembered by us as a community.

I’m sorry to never have met JJ. He sounds like a great guy. I would have been honored to be called a tosser by him.
