madplatter33 has just been temporarily banned as it is a hacked/phished account. You need to reverse the payment with paypal.

Leave your PayPal dispute open until you get the watch and have verified its authenticity.

Be thankful that you paid by PayPal instead of by wire.

He won't be receiving a watch. Scammers don't phish other people's accounts in order to sell watches. They take the money and disappear.

Paypal will no doubt see you right - as stated before glad you didn’t send via bank transfer.

Will take a few weeks but am sure all good in the end.

Yep just let PP know you want funds returned. They will see that you are made whole. Thank goodness you were wise enough to use PP for payment.

Surprised a scammer would accept PayPal for payment.. normally would insist on bank transfer, no?
Would they have been able to withdraw the funds before a dispute opened?

Thank you very much Moderators and members, I check with the PayPal bank which is Synchrony bank, and as this morning the money was not pick up by the scammer thank God, so just need to wait for the process of the disputed to reverse the money they said it could take up to 60 days to get the money back, but is better than not getting it
again thank you

Is there a way someone can verify that it's not a hacked account they are dealing with?

Don’t you have to wonder why a scammer would not grab the money ASAP ?

If its a new PP account with no/little transaction history, the funds will be held back by PP just to protect against this scenario.

Sometimes the scammers use real people such as elderly to accept the money from their scams. Paypal will actually call them and a real person answers thinkings its real money for them and they will argue about it and everything.

I got a scammer to return me $900 once from one of these people - after they got threatened to shut down their paypal account.
