No doubt. I’m trying hard to convince my friend this is a bad idea but I can’t see anything identifiably wrong with this. Experts weigh in?

No one is going to be able to tell much from those low rez pics. Def not enough to have any confidence. You could find out where it was bought and work back to the AD, to confirm its provenance.
