I'd love to own an Astronomia, as I appreciate it for what it really is... a piece of art strapped to your wrist.

I’m not against the astronomia, though it’s obscenely large. I just can’t find the guy in general to be such a clown. I don’t think it’s that unfair to judge people who put themselves on media for capital gains. If he was just a private guy posting here I would not be so truthful in my assessment.

That was a fun view - hope he gets that storage case too. Not that familiar with Jacob and Co. Assume their high end stuff is top-notch, but cases and cases of "classic" pieces that pretty much look horrid at 50% is not a particularly good look.

Agreed that this was likely a staged video, with the intent of shifting some of these pieces.

I think Jacob has really transformed into a state of the art watchmaker, as opposed to a once "fashionable" watch dealer. His recent work is amazing and should not be correlated with the cheaper, generic diamond watches he previously capitalized on.

Their price negotiation should have been edited out of the clip. That was rude on Michaels behalf and I can tell it bothered Jacob. Although I agree that 50% off is fair for a line of watches that are now 15 years out of "style".. that still should have been handled privately. That being said, I don't think this hurts Jacobs brand. Common sense would tell you the difference between his 50% off pieces as opposed to his new haute horology watches.

Read somewhere that Jacob & Co is the RM of 90s and early 2000s.
