Patek 5990 in Gold?

5990 is a stunning piece, in the future will there be a gold version? I can imagine the rosegold version will be very beautiful

It is a big and heavy watch even in SS, i dont think R will sell well. I would wish there is a white dial in SS though.

Yes I found the same. Couldn’t wear under a cuff and was constantly pushing the gmt buttons without realising

If they brought it out in all-gold, I would forget to mention that to my wife!

Price should be in the same range with 5980/1R IMHO

My prediction is that the steel will be discontinued soon and replaced with a PM version. The steel version has had a long enough run by Patek standards

If there is an R version of this watch it will sell like crazy - the biggest, flashiest, PP ever (without diamonds) will be irresistible - there will be a stampede of blingsters falling over each other - Instagrammers will be swimming in their own drool - even more likes!!!!

The rumor is that the 5980/1R is to be discontinued in favor of a 5990/1R next year.

That's also a contributing factor to why the 5980/1R jumped from low 100's to mid-to-high 100's earlier this year.

It's just a rumor, so I don't exactly have a "confirmed source" that I could share. :)

Personally, I believe it.

I also get the sense Patek is eventually going to phase out the 5980, but that might be crazy talk.

Still, it would make sense to me. The 5990 is a viable replacement.

In this day the Insta stampede will be true of any golding of a Nautilus.

I'm already in love with the 5990/1A.

I hope they make a 5990/1P and 5990/1R. I'd be all over both.

The 5990/1P would be a 300g behemoth, and I'd be so enamored by it. (I love my heavy heavy full platinum DD40 and Platonas.)
