I’d rather have that than all three of the others.

Nice collection

Super curious with ALS you chose with those.

I love the 5164A and the 5170P is a dream. Considering the 5170P as we speak - how often do you wear it? Any situations where you specifically don't (aside from wet activities, obv)?

the als is a 297.026 1815 “homage to walter lange” - it’s at the cottage - i’ll take a pic and post this weekend...

honestly, i don’t wear the 5170P very often anymore - it’s, obviously a beautiful watch, but for whatever reason, the glare from the crystal on that particular piece makes it difficult for me to actually see what time it is…

my latest interest with watches is to look for pieces that would appear to most people like a simple watch that, on the surface, just tells time (and so i can see what time it is!!!) but is actually a far more complicated timepiece than that under the surface...

current grails for PP in that category are the PP 5178G-010 and 5520P-001, and in ALS it would be the 260.025, and the 297.026 mentioned above, which i got fairly recently...

as promised, here’s the ALS... an 1815, but with a twist- “... a jumping sweep-seconds hand with a start-and-stop function.”

Thanks for sharing. I absolutely love the look of this watch, but I am reluctant to pull the trigger. I've messaged basically every owner I could find...and I'm sure annoyed the hell out of everyone!

I just can't imagine the blue dial being something that goes with a lot of outfits. I know that sounds silly in a watch forum, but a watch is still an accessory, after all.

I've been starting to look at Lange more. I love the original Dato. I love their rose gold - I'm Indian and it just looks great on my skin. I love the Dato Perp, I love the Lange 1 MP...seems I still have more research to do.

I'm not totally off the 5170P, but I have a 5 watch limit and I'm trying to balance a few things:

- I want to actually wear it, somewhat regularly
- Still want it to feel special when I do put it on
- Don't want to get killed if I decide to sell
- Fits like a glove and has presence on my 15cm wrist.

I love this ALS. So many complications are made that could be sort of useful but not really necessary (alarm, perpetual calendar, moonphase, minute repeater) because they are either aesthetically pleasing or a nod to prior useful functionality. This one takes the cake. Lange made a dead-beat start and stop center second hand that is like a fidget spinner for those with refined taste

Oh yeah, and the rest of your collection is fantastic as well

truth be told, i’ve spent way more than time than i care to admit playing with that complication while looking at both the front and back of this ALS!!!
