Trade green 116508 Daytona green for 5711/a Patek?
I have an opportunity to deal a daytona 116508 green dial plus $10k for a 2017 Patek 5711/a nautilus. I bought the 116508 at retail. I find myself not wearing it and am considering this move. Should I go for it?

No!!! Trade a very limited $40k gold watch plus $10k for a $30k watch made of steel?!
The hype is out of control! There is nothing special about a 5711, it’s an entry level PP watch without any unique features. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would not do it. The 5711/a is just really popular right now and only time will tell if it becomes a "legend". I only see value depreciation with time but who knows.

If you’re not wearing it and and you think you’ll love the 5711 more then I would do it. Personally I’m not sure if I would for the extra $10k plus but it’s your call Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I couldn't do it. I've held both in my hands before and just couldn't justify giving up the Daytona for the nautilus.

No way I’d consider that trade.

Not a trade I would make, but I own and love the 116508. I think it’s far more special than the 5711.

No way - that Patek is a plain Jane of a watch. Pure hype.

The only reason you should do this is if you want to sell the Patek. But even then you could probably sell the YG Daytona and be close to the same amount.
The Patek is STUPID high, even at MSRP. I say this as somebody who lusted after a Nautilus even 12 years ago when I first saw somebody wearing one in Milan. It’s a basic stainless sport watch, which was sitting in cases even a few years ago. I firmly believe there’s zero chance this hype lasts on that watch. At least with the Daytona you still have full YG at the end of the day. |

Agree with a lot that's been said. I would not make that trade especially not with the 10k on top. The Daytona is special in this configuration and will continue to be unique.

The 18K yellow gold green dial watch is incredible but if it comes down to which watch you might enjoy wearing more than of course you should trade it.

No way I would make that trade. However if I wasn’t wearing the Daytona I’d look to move it on.

Absolutely do it if the Patek has box, papers and is in good condition. The Patek is going for 65-75K. Much harder to get than the Rolex. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/20/f...-nautilus.html

vs. https://www.chrono24.com/search/inde...ccessoryTypes= The difference average is more than 10K and the blue face 5711 is harder to get. Believe me. |

How much did he sell it for? Watch the video. 68K....after he wore it for months. And then people were ringing him off the hook to buy it. This is only going to increase in price. The gold vs steel has nothing to do with it frankly. The 5711 is worth far more than a Daytona unless it's a historical piece or a Platona/Rainbow. 5711 IMO is actually worth as much or more than a Platona.

I'm unbiased and not a fan of either piece. It is crazy as far as comparing msrp's, wait times and market value differences between these two. As much as I hate to say it, the numbers don't lie. If you like the trade the money seems fair. I see 2007 PP 5711s going for 60k plus, asking prices of course.
