Datejust 41 Dial Decision

My friend is going to be purchasing a DJ41 however he is torn between the Wimbledon dial or the stick dial

I love the Wimbledon dial however I hate the 9 hour marker being stick, that’s why I went with the stick dial. However I can see why he is torn

What do you all think?

Definitely the stick! I agree, the stick at the 9 position makes zero sense and takes away from the dial.

Wimbledon if he’s got multiple watches. Stick if this will be the only one.

These are all gorgeous - that blue dial is something else.

As to OP's question, I love the Wimbledon dial. But, I do agree if it's your first or one and only, I would go with the stick dial as well. The green may get you trying to coordinate colors, etc., even though I don't think you have to. Either way, both are great choices.

I had the very same problem.

In perfect lighting the Wimbledon is great. But the moment lighting isn't ideal, it becomes dramatically less legible. Which is kind of a deal breaker for me.

I would go with the stick dial personally. I'm not a huge fan of the Wimbledon and the stick at the 9 o'çlock position.

I think the stick has more elegance and in the long run will be the better purchase. I like the green on the Wimbledon but might grow tired of it in a few years.
