Heads up!!

I just got a pop up screen asking me to log in again to view a page on this forum...I ignored it and carried on...which was not a problem...

My sense is that this may be some kind of way to obtain your log in details...

May be wrong...but with the recent attacks am being careful..apologies if this has already been posted.

Put this here so that it got the most attention..

Mods please move if necessary.

Yeah, I've learned never to trust these things, especially when it comes in the form of a pop-up.

Where's it coming from?
Is it when you click on some banner?
I recommend that you block pop-ups.
I don't how this is happening.........

It happened to me too. I think the pop-up read, "bestwatches.com"? Then it asked for user id & password. I simply closed the window & re-opened a new one. It didn't pop up again.

Pop-ups are blocked, and it looks sort of like the pop up window you get when you get a PM on this forum.

Because it asks for our login info, it appears to be an attempt at site security.

Just came up for me in normal browsing...I have pop ups blocked.

It was a bestwatches request so hopefully that'll clear it Steve.

Maybe clear your cookies and temporary files.
If it is still coming up then it might be originating from some other link and so I'll have to investigate that further.

I had to log in again in just the last 15 minutes but there was no pop up. It was just as though I hadn't logged in in the first place. I checked the "remember me" box and I've stayed logged in since.

I would still like to know what happened to the pop up, how it got on TRF and is it an attempt to crash TRF in some way?

Thanks Rob
I think the website link in the top left corner must have snuck some delinquent code into their link. I don't know if it was intentional or a mistake.
Anyway, I've removed the link to 'BestWatchSites' and that seems to have alleviated the problem.
The link didn't mean much it was purely for linking purposes (as there is no commercial advertising on the forum).
Anyway it's best to play it safe as this kind of think is entirely unacceptable.

I think I may have logged on, was this a separate pop-up or did it look like the forum log on screen?
