Blue-gray strap for 5167A

Hi everyone,

I understand that Patek no longer sells the green strap to costumers with a 5167A (unless you have one of the few that actually came in green).

Do you think, as the new 5146G has the same sizing as the 5167A, that it will be possible to purchase the blue-gray strap at the AD as owner of the 5167A?

I would love to have that and think it will be a nice addition to the all-black look.

Found some nice pics of the 5065A with a blue-gray strap and it looks absolutely amazing!

5164 strap is thicker at the lugs than 5167 so I doubt it will fit.

Agree with Vandyologist. I have seen pictures where people attached the 5167 rubber straps to a 5164 and also where people attached the 5167/1A-011 metal bracelet to a 5164 and you can see that those straps and bracelet not totally 'fill up' the lugs of the 5164. This means that indeed the 5164 straps will be too thick for the 5167. I believe that member 'SL Brabus' even posted a pic of the 5164 with 5167/1A-011 metal bracelet on one of the threads here on this forum (maybe the 'The OFFICIAL Patek Philippe Aquanaut Appreciation Thread... Let's see them!!' thread?) where the 'gap' is visible. I also found a picture on Pinterest (delete the space between the h and the t in de link: h ttps://www.pinterest.ph/pin/433823376585004562/)

Apart from that and as a response to your question: I do not think that it will be possible to purchase a 5164 strap at the AD/a Salon as owner of the 5167A, unless you have a very specialist relationship where they are willing to bend the rules and please you.

Thanks for your reply! I checked the pic and you seem to be absolutely right. So I think the only options are getting an (incredibly rare) green 5167 strap or just wait for patek to discontinue the 5167A as well and come out with a 5167G in a different colour.

Would love to have an alternative to the all-black look.

You are most welcome. There are various - high and lower quality - aftermarket alternatives for colored rubber straps for Aquanaut (and other Patek and non Patek models). I hear good things about Rubber B. They also have a blue one, albeit a bit darker than the new 5164G blue. If you like the pattern of the strap, this would surely bring some color to your Aqua life! Please see this link (delete space between h and h): h ttps://rubberb.com/strap-patek-philippe-aquanaut-5167?selected-color=226

I also heard that their quality is very good. I'm just not sure about the pattern... But probably it is worth a try!

I think Patek really nailed it with the colour of the 5164G. Also, last time I've been to the AD, I was shown the new, slightly darker 5168G in green. Such an improvement! Really looks fantastic in real life.

You can get a brown strap from the 5167r or a red one from the Singapore edition.
Or, alternatively a rubberB or similar strap but they have a different pattern.

I tried this but most are crap. Colors are off and they are made of silicone and leave a rather large gap - even with prongs. Most of the ones with prongs don't fit also. YMMV

If you want a green one that truly looks the same as the original get a vagenari one. They are the only ones that come close.

I just checked their webpage but it seems like only the black one has the original pattern. Otherwise I would have given it a shot!

They had them before but they are no longer listed. My guess is Patek sent them a cease and desist
