Rolex: We are releasing a green dial, green bezel Submariner. How is that for bold?
Other Brands: Good luck selling it.

January 2011 through February 2016:
Rolex: The hype has died down and keeps dropping. It has the best nickname too. How do we move this model?

May 2016:
Rolex: Spread a rumor that it will be discontinued. Tell the ADs. Tell Clymer. Hell even tell that bloke Archie Luxury.

June 2016 – August 2017:
Rolex: Still no effect. Damn it. Maybe we can produce a gold green Submariner with the same dial and bezel to get rid of the stock parks. Crap it doesn’t have gold text or surrounds that will never work.

September 2017:
Prices start to increase are rumors are pounded on the discontinuation. The machine is in gear.

October 2017 – July 2020:
Rolex: You see we were right this thing is selling like hotcakes. But the hype is too risky for us. Let’s really discontinue this model. Green dials are out.
Other Brands: Can you believe that green dial Submariner is selling like hotcakes. Green is the new blue. Start working on it now, ASAP, TOP PRIORITYYYYYY!!!!!

August 2020:
H Moser: We here at little ole H Moser and C release a green dial watch. Aha it will sell like hotcakes.

Late August 2020:
Rolex: We meant it. Gone but we still like the bezel.

September 2020 to present:
Every Other Watch Brand: Today we are happy to announce our limited edition green dial blah blah blah……

Present:
Rolex: Suckers. Do you think this will work for purple? Well let’s try it out boys….
