Minus the craze, the 5205 looks nicer. The Nautilus looks so bulky due to the complication. |

The watch you can get at an AD that will lose the least is a 5196 but that's just because it is the cheapest. I would recommend finding something in the Patek catalog that YOU like and establish a relationship with a local dealer. Maybe some day that will get you either a Nautilus or whatever is the next popular thing.
Or, trade your existing collection for the perfect 1 watch collection that is the 5726. |

I ended up deciding on the Nautilus, but by the time I had made my choice, they were gone from ADs.
And to make matters worse, I sold my Aquanaut to finance the purchase for a fraction of what they're worth now. So my timing was wrong on all counts I do not regret my decision as I am truly happy with the watch. And that's my advice: get what you like, you can't predict the market (at least I wasn't ) |

Unless you have spent or are willing to spend unconditionally at the Patek AD, then that route to the Nautilus just isn’t there.

My first PP was a 5167 last year. Waited about six months. Didn’t buy anything else from them. I was pretty persistent that I just love watches from a horological standpoint and was going to keep it. He knew I had a good collection and I was serious about just shopping at that AD. It meant a lot that this SP got it for me and I haven’t bought a watch from another AD since. He got me as a customer for life.

If you don't like the 5196, look for something else in the catalog. If the 5726 is the only Patek you want, you're going to have to get it in the Grey market as getting one with no history is impossible. I will say, I was on the list for a stainless Patek for years with no purchase history, but once I bought the 5196, I was allocated a very desirable stainless PP six months later because the AD got the correct impression that I am really into watches and am not a flipper. If you want to go the AD route to get a 5726, you need to spend time and money at a dealer and establish a relationship with a Sales associate you get along with. |

In your opinion, is it okay to ask AD a question like “if i get available watch from your showcase (let’s say 5235 or 5205 or 5196) will you be able to get me a Nautilus”? I can show them pictures of current collection if they want

one watch bundle there's no way. i mean if you get a nautilus the dealer is basically handing you 50k cash if not more. everyone gets mad at dealers but would anyone in their right mind hand anyone 50k just because.

5930G is underrated.
Plus Patek never do blue dial with blue strap (its only had been reserved for platinum pieces in past)..

Mugs like me buy new watches, rarely (never in my case) sell them and are wary of the grey market. |

Mh first Patek was a 5712 Nautilus, which I got before Christmas last year (waited 18 months). It came as a Christmas surprise :). I was with the Patek Boutique sincere and open and was following up every 3-4 months and without any purchase history I got allocated the 5712. Now I am buying the new 6911G (waiting list) and waiting for the 5205R (been told I will get those 2 pieces in October). I got some Rolex and Lange in my collection, but never had Patek till my Nautilus showed up.
Sometimes it works reverse, get your nautilus first and then buy other models. I wish Patek could see this. |

So i went in Patek AD and tried on few annual calendars which they have in the showcase, i asked if that will help me to get a Nau in future. They said “we can’t promise anything about when it will come, but we will put you on the list, and also it will help you to get your desirable Rolexes” (they also have Rolex in that store). Would start the relationships and buy a Patek comp from their showcase in this case? Or it just doesn’t sound promising?

If you can find that, you better get it, it seems like a great price to me.

If you love the 5205 or 5235, buy it and enjoy. Once you get the first Patek, you will most likely looking for a second, third, fourth, etc. At some point, if you are loyal to your AD, the Nautilus may pop out. But if you are just buying the other watches to get to a Nautilus, you should just go grey. |

If we buy one or two pieces of complications line such as 5205 or 5235 will not get us in line for sport models.
Is it better to purchase that from gray/secondary market (TRF sellers) instead of PP boutique? At least we can save 5%+sale tax.
