Incoming 14060 on a small wrist

So I finally pulled the trigger on the 5 digit sub. I had the SubC for a short time which did fit my 15 cm wrist, I just felt the maxi case took up a lot of real estate on me. That and the ceramic bezel was too flashy for my taste.

I picked this guy up from a forum favorite dealer. It came with bracelet as well, however the only way I would get it to fit would be to remove a permanent link, which I don't want to do at this point. It would in essence destroy the link. So far I've been wearing it on NATO, Perlon, & leather straps.

Not sure if anyone knows any other tricks to make the bracelet fit without link destruction?

Thanks, heres a wrist shot of that SubC I had last year as a comparison. It fits, but I feel it was way more blocky. However, that bracelet is amazing with the glide lock.

Congratulations

You really need to take the picture of the 5 digit from further away, as IMO the ceramic actually suits you better size wise.

I know the 5 digit wears smaller and I’m sure it suits your wrist better but this is a great example of how pictures can be deceiving

Seriously though, congrats

I removed a permanent link at 6 and it looks great. Much better than in pics. A hollow link is cheap and if your bracelet is complete you can also use one from the 12 side to replace it if you want to sell the watch someday. I'd say do it. You won't regret.

I have small wrists as well and assuming you can get the bracelet to fit without removing a permanent link and are considering that to balance the clasp, the thing my dealer has done in all my 5 digits is flip the bracelet so the clasp faces the other way. This has made it fit much better for me.

You know what they say about people with small wrists?

They wear small watches.

Or they wear what they like. While I have a 36mm Explorer, I also have a seadweller DaytonaC and Patek 5712, all at 40mm, and love each and their size.

It was a joke. I have small wrists. I have several 40 and 42mm. I cannot wear a dssd or even the sky dweller. Even the new SD is big for me.

No worries. It's hard to imply tone or anything with text. It's why kids these days cannot communicate effectively. Ha ha

It was too blocky for me, too. Ended up with the Sea-Dweller 4000 which surprisingly wears smaller than the Sub 114060 and has the GlideLock.

However, a few months ago I made the mistake of trying on a 5 digit sub. Perfect! I'm seriously considering selling/trading. Headed through Orlando later this year and plan on visiting DavidSW.

You done good.

Now, if the Sub were to come out with smaller lugs this year, well . . .

I guess your options are to remove a permanent link (does not necessarily destroy the link unless the pins are so stuck that they break when pulling the link apart), reverse the 6 and 12 sides of the bracelet (rather small effect), and perhaps changing the clasp itself with a smaller one? The older non-flip lock clasp (like those on jubilee bracelets) and the newer flip lock ones on the 5-digit Explorer II and GMT (16570 and 167x0) are much shorter (about 1-2 links worth) than the clasp on the 93150 bracelet (I assume that’s the bracelet your 14060 came with).

I found the same on my 6.5 in wrist; the 114060 felt too large. Congratulations on the new watch. Sorry it's still too large for you. I'd go with getting the permanent link removed. As bracelets can be disassembled and rebuilt I don't believe it has to be permanent.

Yea I really like the look of the submariner on a bracelet as I feel it completes the tool watch look. Do any of you guys wear it on Nato/leather straps as well? Just curious?

The original Bond movie had a Sub on a Nato; since I don't believe there is a Sub that hasn't been worn as such. 14060s are pretty much the end of the line for Subs as tool watches, imho.

Agreed, I think the five digit subs were the last of the true Rolex tool watches. Love the leather Nato Strap!
