Screwed in to keep even dust particles from entering
the sacred inner place and messing up the interior ...

The Rolex professional line is WP with unscrewed crown for at least 3ATM ,and a rubber gasket remains elastic for at least 4-5years regardless how many times you screw in and out the crown so in real life the crown position doesn t matter in case storing your watches .
