GMT BLRO 116719 Pepsi
Last month I purchased the Tag Heuer Aquaracer Pepsi GMT, an obvious homage tot he Rolex GMT. Of course, I am now considering getting a Rolex GMT with the Pepsi bezel (116719BLRO).
For those on here who own one, what are your thoughts on this watch? 002 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/150333170@N07/] |

So you're going from a $1,000 watch to a $40,000 watch?

You mean the SS or WG as that is quite the jump?

Nothing wrong with that.
Go for it! BLRO is on of the coolest references, and definitely worth the price difference. Secondary market can be had for around $26k btw, BNIB, not $40k. |

You better hurry. By all accounts according to a few threads here in TRF it's just been discontinued.

I'm not a fan it's a clear rip off of the BLRO.
The GMT hand on this doesn't fit with the rest of the watch and the numbers on the bezel look tacky. I've owned a couple of Tag Heuers but their recent models are among the worst looking monstrosities I've ever seen. I had been a fan up to the Aquaracer Calibre 16 43mm Chronogaph but since then I don't even bother looking at them. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk |

I agree @Chadridv, I did some preliminary research and I easily found more that 3 dozen for sale on the secondary market in the low to mid $20k range. There were 4 listed here on TRF for sale within the last month.

Good point, however if Rolex announces they are discontinuing the WG Pepsi, the secondary market prices will in all probability rise. On the other hand, if Rolex announces a SS version to replace the WG version, then the price will tank further.

Apples and oranges!
The tag is a great watch but it’s a “Pepsi wanna be”

Many other watch manufactures are cashing in the Pepsi bezel, I doubt Rolex will sit with their hands in the pockets having nothing to sell for such an iconic watch. |

I believe the TAG has some plastic inside holding the movement. Can anyone verify this, and if so is it a good, bad or who cares item? I'm happy with my BLNR, but sometime wonder if a cheaper GMT would be worth it for trips outta the country. cheers.

I highly doubt that there will be a SS Pepsi, maybe a coke. I also doubt that any new release will affect the blro price, it's a totally different buyer, one that would unlikely be influenced by a SS release when considering a PM piece. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I *just* got my BLRO today! Bought preowned, so it was $24k OTD for me. I don't think I'd pay $38k msrp/retail for it, but at $24k it was much more worthwhile.
I have a sub-c 114060; compared to that this BLRO feels *hefty*. Like double the weight. White gold is nice - at a glance looks like SS, but next to the sub-c, looks warmer indoors, and brighter yet softer sheened outdoors. Also notice it sits lower and flatter on my wrist due to the caseback not doming out convex-like as much as the sub-c. If I could only keep one and money wasn't an object, BLRO all the way. If money *was* a concern and I could only keep one, it's the sub-c. But, if you can swing it, do both. They're both lovely in their own right, and I hesitate to say one is better than the other in any dimension. :) 27848610_10107785882655553_867575965_n.jpg |

dang posted up a couple paragraphs of my impressions as I just got my BLRO in the mail today, but looks like the forum ate the post :(
basically, it's way heavier than a sub-c (feels like 1.75-2x the weight), and has a different luster/sheen. warmer indoors, but brighter yet softer in daytime sunlight. love them both. also wrote about how the blro sits lower and flatter on my wrist compared to the sub-c due to the flatter caseback. can't say one is better than the other! i'd hesitate to pay full retail msrp of $38k for the blro, but for the preowned prices it is totally worth it (i paid $24k out the door fwiw). 27848610_1007785882655553_867575965_n.jpg |

I just got mine right before Christmas and it’s been a weekday daily ever since. Now it seems it is being discontinued by the mother ship. Oh well, I like mine.

Well, what do you need a BLRO for since you've got the Tag.
Huge fan of the BLRO here. If you can get your hands on one for a decent price, absolutely pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed. |

This is not a rhetorical question as I don't follow the Sky-D market. But when Rolex introduced a SS version of the Sky-D, what happened to aftermarket prices of the WG Sky-D? Seems this would be a good proxy for what BLRO owners might expect to happen if Rolex introduces a SS BLRO.
