Celebrating the purchase of my first Patek Philippe Nautilus, lovely watch along with an outstanding RP 100 point wine...still needs time in the cellar though, this is a huge cab.

Thank you, the Sloan needs more time in the cellar, still very tightly wound. I can’t wait to taste this one in another five-ten years, maybe by then my AD will come through on the 5711 I’ve been waiting for...

Simply...The Wine Thread

Something a little different last night and it paired very well with the steak. The restaurant view was pretty sweet too. lol

This is an outstanding year for Rocco Di Montegrossi. 2016 they did not bottle a Gran Selezione as the fruit wasn’t up to their standards so they used some of that fruit in this one, as a result, this has an ability to age well, it still needs time in the cellar.

Nice. I’ve packed vino in clothes in checked bags and it’s worried me. I’ve also seen inflatable wine bags that you can use in luggage.

Simply...The Wine Thread

Of all the off the beaten path wineries we’ve tried in our RV travels, Pillsbury Wine Company out of Wilcox, AZ is by far our favorite. We had a bottle of the Syrah with country style ribs tonight.

One of my go to wines, this 2015 Spanish wine is a deep, dark, rollercoaster delight. Very responsible priced, I think the 2015 is far better then the 2016 and can be cellared for a while. Either vintage needs a solid hour of decanting before drinking

A successful blend from an old vinyard in the McLaren Vale area of South Australia that has been producing under this label since 1972. 50% Cab Sav, 37% Shiraz & 13% Merlot. Currently drinking at it's best (IMHO) with a lively intense palate, it has aged well and has a few more years at it's peak, which is just as well as I have a few more bottles.

I haven't had this one but probably a really good wine, too. I've won more than one blind tasting with friends with a Kirkland Signature wine.

Recently picked up some bottles of this Barolo on sale for under $40 to cellar and tried a bottle last night, wow, if you’re a Barolo and Ravera Cru fan, do yourself a favor and try a bottle. I let it breathe for 1.5 hours. Wine critics say to not drink until 2023 and age to 2035, can’t wait to try this in another 5-10 years.

Enjoyable Red Wine from Columbia Valley, WA around $50 and worth it. Cheers!

Tasting Notes: Blackberry, blueberry cobbler, cassis, woodsmoke, licorice pastille, and meadow flowers are very inviting.  The Palate is taut and structured, featuring dark red and black fruits. great minerality, and lively acidity.  The finish on this wine is very long and focused, with lingering floral and light oak elements.  This wine will reward short term cellaring, and last for a decade plus in the cellar.

Blend: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc

Aging: Aged 21 months in 50% French new oak.
