In Philadelphia, it's worth 50 bucks!...

I just saw this... still cracks me up

Dan Akroyd pawning his watch in Trading Places: "It tells time in simultaneously in Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Rome and Staad!"

Pawn shop owner: "In Philadelphia, it's worth 50 bucks!"

What's your favorite movie scene involving a watch?

'The Game' Michael Douglas' Patek Philippe. Gondolo.
The appraisal by the American Embassy official.

"a man with a watch like that, doesn't necessarily have a passport problem"

There are a lot but would go with the James Bond watch references every time.

In the opening scene of satirical cartoon show ‘Neo Yokio’ (2017), Kaz Kaan (Jaden Smith), a heartbroken young dude with pink hair and Ivy League clothes, sulks courtside as two beautiful women play rooftop tennis. He used to watch his ex-girlfriend play there. Interrupting his self-pitying reverie, Kaz’s robotic butler (Jude Law) appears: “Sir, I almost forgot, your watch is fixed. I picked it up this afternoon.” He hands over a Cartier Tank, inscribed with “Love Always Cathy”. Kaz says, “She’s probably found a new tennis club already”, then tosses the watch into far-below traffic.

Not necessarily any particular watch but in the old war movies (and assault movies) before any attack they'd always get together and "ok men, let's synchronize our watches" so they could attack together at the exact second.

During these scenes they'd show a bunch of different watch dials while they hacked their watches. It was an obligatory scene in a lot of movies.

Probably Rocky 3 where Rocky bails Paulie out of jail and he calls the dd Rocky got him a ‘lousy ExLax watch’ and smashes it on the ground beside a sweet Lambo Jalpa.

That’s when you knew he was a Panerai plant all along and Rolex passed on sponsoring the movie.

Not exactly a watch, but the bomb timer ticking down in Goldfinger,
stopping on '007', is hard to beat.

Before radio became widespread in the 1930s, the clock tower at Philadelphia’s City Hall would blink it’s lights at 9 PM. So that people could set their clocks. It could be seen 25 miles away, in Bucks County.

Always loved this one from Planes, Trains, & Automobiles:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuZNswuwAxM

(It's a Piaget Polo (Ref. 8273) and "a Casio"))

So funny!
