Enjoying the Heat and Humidity on "The Emerald isle"

Today here on "The Emerald Isle" we are looking at about 104F with 95% relative humidity. So no wrist shots as no watches are ever carried by me on trips... Plenty of pictures snapped with my Nikon D6 but files to big to share, however the cycling is awesome and the Jumbo Tiger Prawns are Yummy.

Well I'm glad you enjoy it

It is a humid 27c here today and I'm already hoping for cold & wet October to arrive soon

Strange - I always thought when someone refers to ‘The Emerald Isle’ it was about Ireland.

Bah humbug on muggy hot, humid climates!
I was born in Manila, PI, lived there and in Hong Kong until I was 16. Have been in California since, I prefer the California climate.

Glad you're having fun!

You can very easily adjust and reduce the file size 'in camera'.
Would love to see some pix.

Don’t get heatstroke. Evaporative cooling doesn’t do so well at high humidity levels.

So I'm guessing both Ireland and Sri Lanka being very green got the Emerald Isle name because someone sailing by went "damn, that island looks like an emerald" and it stuck.

There is also a town called Emerald Isle in North Carolina.

I guess it's like the Sandwich Islands. Which are named for a couple of different sets of Islands. One in the Atlantic and one in the Pacific.

Capt Cook must have been hungry a lot every time he saw an island, because he named the Hawaiian Islands AND he also named the Islands off Argentina, both the Sandwich Islands in honor of Lord Sandwich.

In fact as you drive around and see a Sandwich Shop you will probably find that it was first discovered by Captain Cook.

Note: this post may not be entirely historically accurate.
