You really cant go wrong with either. Classic = Explorer 1, Something unique = Milgauss

I bought a Z blue over 3 years ago and love it as much as the day I got it.
Having said that, be mindful that it is a chunky watch and has a considerable weight, so I would suggest trying it on.

I tried on the explorer 1 today imo stunning watch but a little too small. I thought i wpuld lovr it more

I think the Explorer I is the most versatile watch made and I prefer it to the Milgauss but in a two or three watch collection where the other watch is an IWC Mark XV, they're a bit too similar, so I'd probably go with the Milgauss if you want to keep the IWC. The Milgauss is an attractive watch, but it's not an everyday watch to me because of all the different colors and the lightning bolt. I see it more as part of a larger collection.

The Explorer. It is the more flexible in the wearing.
From up in hills and the woods to wearing the Tux on those formal ocassions.

The Milgauss. A nice watch for sure and I believe a deal more expensive but not quite so adaptable.

I had the Z Blue sold it.. Now have an Exp I 39mm WG... how big are you into matching your clothes and your watch? The Exp can be worn with anything. The Z Blue is a scratch magnet and a lot harder to match clothes with due to its distinct colour.

Milgauss is very cool, but exp1 for me all the way. I am boring lol and like the clean black symmetry. Go MK2 if you go that route. Much nicer IMO.

I think the Z-Blue is cheeky and quirky. The Explorer 1 couldn't be more straight and even, compared to the riot of the Z-Blue.

And it doesn't stop at that beautiful sunburst dial, made even more visually interesting by the green crystal, or the lightening bolt second hand, or the blue and orange colours which sound like they should clash but actually work beautifully.

The shiny bezel and the PCLs make this watch hard to miss. It glints and twinkles whenever the slightest bit of light hits it. I think my Z-Blue is more ostentatious than my Blusey. Personally, I love the Milgauss and the Z-Blue in particular.

But I can't tell anybody else what they like.

Explorer because personally I wouldn't want to wear an electric blue, green sapphire watch with an orange lightning bolt hand as a daily.

Cool watch for a collection but not a daily for me.

I was recently preparing for my second Rolex purchase and I was dead set on the Explorer, I love that watch.

Once I had the funds together, I went to DavidSW website and immediately bought a white Milgauss. I still don’t even know what happened! I do love the Milgauss and don’t regret the impulse purchase, but dang I surprise myself.

In your case, I vote Z-Blue!!!! Tried one on at the AD and it is an incredible piece.

My suggestion is to add color to your collection. The vote goes to the Z blue. That blue dial and green sapphire crystal is a beauty in person. The case size has good wrist presence as well.

I love the blue Millgaus but the Exp I wears much easier as a daily driver do to height (if you wear shirts). Also, flies under the radar always.the millgaus stands out a bit which does make a little statement to the watch nerds around you...great choices either way.

I have an Exp and I really love the white Milg too, I have been close to purchase it but while I have a 7.5 inch wrist to my taste Milg feels too thick.

I have your opposite problem. I have the white Milgauss and am contemplating between the blue z Milgauss and Explorer for my next purchase. Find a white Milgauss to try on - gorgeous watch!
