I don’t think there is a choice to wait, this is a very limited production run with a time sensitive window.

No Offence and not to be Debbie Downer here, but who really needs a Hemi in a Jeep. Probably not an off roader.

I had a friend who put a Vette engine in a Morris Minor back in the 60s and it was cool but sort of stupid.

Are people going to be street racing a Jeep. Stop light to stop light. Jeeps don't do well over about 70 MPH with the tires that people put on them. They don't handle all that well on the highway because they are pretty light and the wind gets under them and they blow around.

A Hemi isn't going to be any advantage off road either. And $67,000 for a Jeep?

So basically it's just a Rolex for a guy who doesn't care about watches.

Now I'm gonna duck and cover.

That is going to be a beast. Love these things but I am too tall to fit in one. Perfect for the PNW. Congrats and enjoy. That is going to be a blast to drive.

Is it dope? Absolutely. Is it helpful for off-reading? Yes, provided you’re doing a lot of mud or sand runs. But for rock-climbing, a big, heavy motor isn’t helpful.

Rock-climbing and many trails are far more about traction and gearing. Lockers and tires will get you a lot further than raw power.

But yeah...the power is certainly great for speed and I’m sure glorious noises!

As a long time "Jeeper" people have been screaming for a V8 since the CJ7/CJ5 days ended. I cannot tell you have many Jeeps I have encountered over the years with Hemi swaps. I even ran across a few with LS1 swaps.

Glad Jeep finally listened to the customer base!

I always thought it’d be cool if they had put the 360 from the Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited (not sure whether it’s identical to the 360 in other Chrysler products) into a TJ.

Sorry. You're absolutely right.

And I'm sure he'll have a blast when it arrives.

As a Jeep owner my comments were more at the incredulity of Jeep to release such a vehicle that is overpowered and probably more dangerous. (in my opinion)

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/jeep...-specs-photos/

And the fact that we are supposedly trying to reduce our carbon footprint and they're "pumping up the volume" with bigger engines.

My apologies to the OP.

Depends on if you drive like an idiot and are irresponsible with the power....I won’t be

Agreed. I’m not a heavy off-roader, just some light trails, nothing too technical or rock crawling. Just perfect for a person who’s had Jeep’s since the 80’s and always wanted an 8cyl Jeep

No problem, everyone’s entitled to their opinion/thoughts. A hemi isn’t “needed” in a Jeep, as we don’t “need” $10k + watches to tell time, different time zones, time certain things, etc....BUT...everyone has their hobbies, likes, & dislikes. I know friends with $20k shotguns for competition shooting, and I’m saying “that’s crazy money for that” as they look at my Daytona
To each their own...just be responsible, respectful, and enjoy life while we can

Is it though? I mean Jeeps still ain't fun to drive and in low gear 4X4 they are already torque monsters, just think the HEMI is overkill but then again all US attention-worthy autos are in the "overkill" lane already so what do I know!

Serious question for you....If the USA does all it possibly can to reduce it's "carbon emissions", do you really think China and India care? Because if those two don't, everything else is a moot point. We can't save the world. Nor should we.

Gotta start somewhere. I get your point but we can't just do nothing.

We keep fouling the nest we won't have a nest to live in.

Exciting times Richard can’t wait for your thoughts on this one

I think you need a new watch to go with it ... something big and chunky
