Great advice. This article should be required reading for everyone.

For those that use Google Authenicator, watch out! You can become stranded when you lose or upgrade your phone without moving the Google app first.

From this article:
"If you’re looking for a few more features, Authy is highly recommended by most, has a nice interface, and lets you search within the app for a specific account (very helpful if you have a lot of accounts to scroll through), and is easier to switch to a new device than Google Authenticator."


I have Authy installed on my phone and computer.

I use authy. If I recall that was what Steve recommended.

I felt it was negligent not to given my number of posts etc

Just enabled 2FA as well.
I am clumsy with these kind of things so usually reluctant to change anything if it works fine but this was easy
