How often do you...
How often do you check your watches time against a world or internet clock to see how well you watch is keeping time?
(ps JJ's daily ritual of checking each morning might upset our averages here )

Never. I occasionally check it against a clock in my office, since that's the only time that really matters. If I'm withing a few minutes of "office time", then I'm probably going to make it to meetings on time.

I might check a couple times a week ( with different watches of course) I don't adjust them unless they are a couple minutes off. ( which doesn't happen that often )

My watches usually run out of charge by Monday, because I don't wear them on the weekends.
Yardwork, house maintenance are not appropriate tasks for watches for me. They just get in the way. So I end up resetting whatever I apport sometime Monday, if I notice. |

It really depends, anywhere from -4 to +6 times a day
Seriously though, I just check once every month or so (usually when the date needs to be changed) unless its a new watch, then I check it weekly for the first month to make sure its up to my standards (anything that isnt fast or slow 10 mins a month is ok with me, but so far I have never experienced this) |

Every few days. I usually don't bother to reset, just note the error (and then often forget!). The minute hand is always "about right" which is quite enough

I don't check it on a regular basis. My watches are on a winder, and when I take one off to wear, I synchronize it with my computer, which uses the Atomic Clock to set its time on the Internet. I do this only if the time on the particular watch is +- 1.5 minutes (rare, to be sure).

When I first got my GMT-II it fluctuated + several minutes one week and then - several the next. Very frustrating so I had it adjusted at a RSC. Now I check with an internet clock about every 4 - 6 weeks and rarely reset it more than 1 minute.
That's good enough for Kiwi time. Last edited by dfn8tly; 18 April 2006 at 12:38 PM.. |

On the YM and 162 it only gets checked when I need to reset the date. On the 210, never.
I really like Peter (Manatee) answer. If I am within a few minutes of my work clock, I am fine.

I synchronize my GMT Master II with www.timeticker.com on the first day of each month.
It's a regular gainer, (less than 60 secs a month) so that's just fine with me. Steve |

Only when I have to reset the Date, whats in a couple of seconds,or god forbid a whole minute or two fast or slow. Its hardly going to be the end of the world, much more imortant things in life, that a few seconds minutes here or there.

I don't do regular checks - just when I think of it like now. Checked the JLC just now and it is +50 seconds since the time change.......whenever that was.

I try to check mine against my Atomic watch when I change off, but I often forget, because my mechanicals are on winders which are located in one spare room and my Atomic watch is in a case on the dresser in my bedroom. I'm usually too lazy to go back to the bedroom to check it after I strap it on. I mostly check my watches against each other. If they look like they're about right (w/in +/- 2 min), that's good enough for me.
