Makes me think Rolex didn't make it so you could not swap out the jubilee for the oyster bracelet because Rolex has long term plans of making an oyster for the new Pepsi anyway.

116719 owners should be pissed. No new movement and if you have black dial its pretty much the same watch as 126710 with oyster bracelet (except the yellowish hint/tint of WG and heft).
Now you can get a blue dial to be distinguished. Well, the changing of bracelet is a direct hit at WG 116719 owners! No exclusivity to them now. But in a way thats good. Either ways no big issue. The cost value of owning a WG BLRO decreased a bit!

The questions was asked at Basel to Rolex reps who stated to many the Oyster would not fit.

Same nonsense info at ADs regarding Datejusts that if you order on jubilee, oyster will not fit or vice versa.

I’d want to buy a new BLRO and a new LN then swap bracelets. I actually think the all black bezel LN would look really good and kind of dressy on a Jubilee. You could potentially buy both and still be saving $19,050 over buying just a new WG Pepsi (albeit with the blue dial). And you’d end up with two watches and two bracelets to play around with. Could be fun!

One could also buy a black SubC instead of the LN, and have the sporty brushed look on the BLRO and dress up the black SubC with the Jubilee. I think I’d actually go this route. Plus glidelock!

One could also have a YM, Daytona, Exp I, II, Milgauss or pretty much any of the SS professional line. SEL 5 digit bracelets could also work to an extent. Rolex has made a hash of this. The ceramic Pepsi should never have made its debut in WG. The WG should have been an all blue Blueberry or something but they sort of did that with the Smurf. No one wanted a Goddamn Seiko blue dial.

I'm surprised the Oyster fits but I do like it more on the Oyster. I think if Rolex released it this way it would be a more direct blow at the WG owners. Instead Rolex publicly stated the Oyster bracelet won't fit and won't sell it that way, but quietly is not going to prevent owners from doing it if they want and happen to have a 20mm Oyster bracelet on hand. Getting an Oyster is not cheap or easy.

But this news also means all the aftermarket rubber straps for GMTs will also fit.

Just to add I prefer the Jubilee because the second part of the end link comes last the lugs. It suits the watch much better and it does not look square.

to each their own. I have seen people trying to "make" a platinum daytona by changing the dial and bezel on a SS watch and this is the same thing. IMO anytime you are attempting to make your SS watch the same as a PM watch it has the potential to come across as really tacky.

That said i like the oyster bracelet, however because its the same configuration as a PM watch thats not the message i would like to send. I would not do it 100% because of that fact. If it was an official option i would think differently, but its not so im not a fan of the mod.

Just to add the clasps are different on Jubilee/Oyster in case there are any Pepsi owners who want to buy aftermarket straps and use the Jubilee clasp.

Tried the jubilee on the BLNR and it doesn’t fit... the jubilee spring bars are too fat for the holes in the case. The spring bars from the BLNR bracelet are too fat to fit through the jubilee.
