Howdy all - new guy here. Semi-grown up (47) with a couple of kids, busy job, etc...

Have had a bit of a circuitous route to the world of Rolex. I've always been interested in nice watches but waited forever to "break the seal" because I just knew it would be a Pandora's Box for me. When I get into things I tend to really, really go deep on them, which can get expensive... haha.

Anyway, started last year with a couple of Omegas. I went in looking for and wanting a Rolex, but I was still pretty green about the whole thing. At the time it seemed the AD didn't really have what I wanted in a Rolex and also they seemed very expensive comparatively (serious foreshadowing there lol) so I walked out with a Speedmaster.

Really liked that at first but once the "new" wore off I realized that it just didn't pull at my heartstrings. Like with guitars (another hobby), if I don't love it and use it regularly I let it go. So off went the Speedmaster. Fast forward a bit and through the times where I tried the things most people probably try: "hmmmm maybe I just need a smartwatch," or "hmm maybe I just need an inexpensive beater that looks expensive," or "hmmm maybe I'll just try that watch club thing"..... and here I am back at Rolex which is what I wanted in the first place.

So it seems that more than anything I am a Rolex fan. I love watches for sure (Vacheron Overseas anyone??) but at the end of the day it's the Rolex pieces that I'm drawn back to over and over.

Just got a GMT Master II and couldn't be more thrilled. More to follow I'm sure.. Really want a Yacht Master. And a Datejust. And a.... hahaha
