My current collection of favorites is small.....

YSL Y Parfum for general use
Tom Ford Noir Extreme for the fall
Tom Ford Tobacco Oud Intense for the winter
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Parfum for when I want to smell like I’m always on vacation in the Mediterranean

And for the record, I can’t roll with F*cking Fabulous.... something in its profile literally makes my stomach sick. Anytime I’ve tried it I have to wash it off because I start feeling ill from the smell

My first luxury cologne purchase in my life: Creed Green Irish Tweed and Creed Millesime Imperial. I have been using Jovan Musk for Men for the last 10 years or so. This is a new world for me.20200905_112133.jpg

Hahaha I know what you mean. I remember my dad using Lagerfeld as his main go to when I was growing up.

Vintage of course..... literally. They stopped using Oakmoss years ago due to something relating to health concerns. I found a few new old stock bottles still in the box. The old formula has much deeper tones. My grandfather was a businessman and an avid golfer all of his life and I remember this smell distinctly growing up. I’ve always loved it.

I don't regularly wear cologne but I have and like Aqua Di Gio (more spring/summer) and Polo Black. These are my go to colognes and have been for years

LV has gotten serious about their fragrances over the last couple years and that's one of the ones I like but that whole line is fantastic. I think last year they came out with Ombre Nomade and I'm addicted to that one.

Also LV has a refill policy for their upper end fragrance line, you bring the empty bottle and they refill it for a fraction of the original cost. I can't remember right now what it is but it's way cheaper than buying another bottle.

You're a man after my own heart except I love Effing Fabolous. 80% of my perfumes are TF.

Big fan of this older Polo Green myself. Have a vintage bottle also. They made it more potent back then it seems, as one spray is all I need and it also smells a bit better when lightly done. (With Green Irish Tweed, by comparison, I use five or six sprays.)

Been looking to add another fall/winter scent so have been buying some small decants and samples online to try different niche frags. Initio side effect and Oud for greatness seem really appealing as well as Nishane Fan your flames.

If you like something pretty unique and won't smell like anybody else around the block - try Eight & Bob "The Original" which comes with a fun story about how it was handcrafted for one US President and comes in a really neat book.

great shot, I thought I was only one, stopped counting at 50+ bottles myself. Had a friend have close to 80 bottles lol.

Byredo Unnamed is great, I like a few from Maison Margiela Replica - by the fireplace is great can’t wait to wear that more as it gets even more cooler.

I’m looking to expand my scent collection by purchasing a Creed sample pack. I choose 3 of their scents to try which I like most. I currently wear Dolce and Gabbana ‘The one’ or ‘Light Blue’.

What are you creed lovers recommendations for scents to try?

Thanks in advance!

It depends what kind of fragrances you are looking for or prefer. If you’re looking for something versatile that can check off lots of boxes obviously Aventus and Green Irish tweed (my fav from the house). Millesime Imperial is also very good but the performance on it isn’t great. I also like Original Vetiver as it’s a great everyday dumb reach that tends to get compliments. I find most creed frags to be great warm weather scents but some are better geared towards cooler weather such as Viking and Royal Oud.

Thanks for the recommendations! The sampler pack comes with Aventus, Green Irish tweed and Millésime Impérial. Thinking that may be the way to go as I don’t deal with cold weather very often.

You can’t go wrong with those choices .. think I have every sample and a bunch of bottles from creed, they are mostly mass appealing and considered an easy entry to “niche” fragrances. I’ve been trying a lot of different niche houses lately by buying samples or decants of them.

MrGoat,

That's a great question. I am a total noob to the world of premium colognes. My experience has been nothing but Jovan Musk for Men for the last 10+ years.

I first tried Green Irish Tweed with 2 sprays on my neck and one on each wrist. I found it extremely strong. It was too much for me and I found it overwhelming.

Then I took a few days break and tried Millesime Imperial with just one spray on my neck. I absolutely loved it! It was sweeter, fruitier and strongly citrus. It was better with just one spray.

I will give Green Irish Tweed a try again soon. I think I will like it better with just a single spray. As I get more used to it I will probably be able to use more but as a beginner I want to start slow and work my way up

Next I want to sample Aventus and Spring Mountain Water.

I would appreciate any other suggestions or experience.

Haha you start to lose count after awhile. I will have to try that Byredo, I really like rose of no mans land by them, Gypsy Water is okay too, albeit a bit more feminine.

Love Le Labo, probably my favorite. I have Santal 33, Noir 29 and Bigarade 18 (I think this is a HK exclusive, nice hidden gem if you can find it).
