"My" new one... the 16613 "Bluesy".

After wearing this watch for a week again was like visiting an old friend. It didn’t really change my opinion about the 16613 though. It’s one of the best looking watches ever made and the blue dial is probably THE best looking dial ever produced. And compared to its steel counterpart it’s not even much more expensive in the pre-owned market. That makes 16613 actually quite a “bargain” (if you could ever use that word with Rolex). But you all knew this already.

Here's more about the watch.

Very nice. I’ve been looking for a specimen of these for a while, but ultimately decided I would rather buy a new one, since full sets asking price aren’t that far from the new one.

I have the 126613LB. It is surprising how similar they look now with the thinner lugs. They look so similar. Return to form. Love the look of yours. The biggest difference is the maxi dial. Bluesy is a 100% classic!

I like the proportions of the 5 digit but something about the newer ceramic models is very captivating.

One downside of the 5 digit is the fact that gold in the bracelet is not solid gold (it's plated)

Large collection and the 16613 blue is one of my favourites .I guess that says something .
Own the 16613 blue and 116613LB .
Have seen the 126613LB and not planning to ad it .

The 16613 blue is a classic .

After getting a 50th anniversary Sub in 2004, I started my attraction with them.
When I heard that the “Bluesy”was being retired, I went and purchased this reference for under $5000. Been in its box, never worn, to be given someday to one of my grandsons college graduations. Never been a true fan of the steel/gold look.
Daily wearer right now a 2019 Smurf.

Yes the links are solid gold but the links are hollow.

The middle links are made of solid gold, they're not "gold plated".

The actual links are hollow on all 5-digit Submariners.

Absolutely beautiful piece. I couldn’t agree more about the 16613 it’s such an iconic and beautiful piece and really a bargain in the grand scheme of things. Big congrats. Hopefully I can add one in the not too distant future as well. It’s one I’ve had my eyes on even before I owned a Rolex.

Yeah the prices aren't much higher than steel versions. Actually the lowest priced examples are pretty much on par with the 16610.
