Hello! I am fairly new to the forum and am excited to see this section!
This is my favorite time of the year...beautiful foliage and crisp autumn nights.

I am new to the Rolex world, received my first Rolex as a gift from my dear husband and absolutely love it! Looking forward to meeting you all and participating in discussions.

Indeed. I talked with my parents last night who still live in Central NY and they said the fall has been spectacular this year. I'm really missing it.

Agree w/you both! Autumn is my favorite season by far. The foliage is at peak right now for my location. It makes walking the dog an even more pleasant adventure.

Let’s get this Coffeeshop up and running again Ladies (Men too of course).
Do you mind sharing what your watches are?!? I own 3 Seiko’s so I hang out on that forum as well; I also own 2 Rolex. The Submariner Hulk & the OP 36 White dial. Both sadly discontinued in 2020. I find the Word Association boards to be a lot of fun too. Have a GREAT day all. :)

Show some pics of that 36m White dial!

I'm not a female and have considered that briefly over the 39. Now they are both discontinued, a bit disappointing. I have tried both the 36 and 39 on, but at separate ADs and separate occasions (two years apart), the 36 was recently and it was the grape dial, but I really wanted to see the white dial on my wrist before deciding.

I would like nothing more than to try both on at the same time where it would be clear which one to go for. I have 6.5 to 6.75" wrists and I could easily go either way. It's all moot now anyway. This is how i am rewarded for my indecision

Lefty with a 6-1/2” wrist. I was fortunate enough to pick it up preowned for $1,000 less 2 weeks prior to discontinuation.

Just a moderate collection..
My Rolex TT DJ and Tudor Sub in my avatar,.. a couple of Seiko's, the Presmatic ('68) a SQ from the 80's and some vintage pieces, ie...
A Gruen Precision ('62'ish), my fathers Elgin ('47), grandfathers Hamilton Boulton ('41) and his Hampden pocket watch ('21'ish)...and a Bulova.
I use my novelty Einstein 'Relative Time' watch in my avatar...for kicks.

Nothing Rolex yet. I wanted the white dial OP 39 or 36, I took a while to decide after trying them both, finally decided for the 39, but it was so close to the Rolex announcement that I thought I would wait and see if they would update the OP39 with the new movement, but to my shocking surprise they discontinued the 39 case size and the white dial. I have seen some of the secondary market but I am not willing to pay much more than MSRP (plus tax) for it, and I don't want a used watch. I have sen the OP39 on Chrono 24 for as high as 10.5K...I'm just not going to do that.

Right now my collection consists of mostly more affordable watches like a few Seikos, Orient Star, Hamilton and a couple Omegas.

I am (supposedly) on a list at two ADs for the 39mm Explorer, but neither can tell me anything about when anything is coming in. I personally think that is now the default answer wether they really know anything or not. Interesting times, and almost...almost enough to make me give up on Rolex altogether.

Other than the white dial OP and the Explorer, I have no real interest in any new Rolex. Possibly the Yacht Master (but I prefer the older Platinum dial one), and maybe the BLRO, but that is a long shot at this point.

A few from my collection:

Very nice! I enjoy hearing about those w/vintage pieces and the significance behind them. :). I do like your avatar! The TT DJ and the Rolex Explorer II from the 1990’s are the 2 my brother has that got me interested in Rolex. My journey into this fun & sometimes expensive hobby was a Swiss Army TT Ladies Officer watch in 1993.

^ Very nice. We have similar tastes. :) Omega was my first luxury watch. Unfortunately, I flipped it to get into my next piece which I then flipped for another etc. I didn’t have the funds at the time - sigh
Have you ever seen the pics member [Jocke] has posted of his Platinum Yachtmaster? You’d move heaven & earth to acquire that piece then. Lol. I hope for you that you can obtain one of your desired pieces! The BLRO & Explorer are so versatile.

Oops - My post cut off some of your sentences since I was trying to edit. Sorry!!

Yes!

And I didn't take an opportunity to get one at a very good price recently (in the $6K range)...sort of kicking myself, but my goal is for more of an everyday wear first Rolex (thinking OP then and now Explorer since the white OP is discontinued). I love the Yacht Master, but it's a bit too flashy (PCLs) for an everyday wear for me. Still want it eventually.

^ Very nice - good variety! Join date 11/2019 so fairly new...Welcome :)
Excuse my naivety but I have two questions for you. 1.) Is that 2nd watch to the left an AP? and 2.) When you say Rolex Country are you implying you’re from Switzerland?
I ask since that watch looks lovely and I’d love to see a close-up pic of it; and Switzerland is my ultimate dream vacation destination. It has been ever since I was a child! Some day...
You also have two discontinued 2020 Rolex; such a shame as their both lovely, versatile watches.

Dear JTL31, I just saw your message. Yes, it's the "Mini" AP - quartz - which I bought in 1999 and wore days and nights for 15 years and it shows. It's not being manufactured for quite a long time now. The trend being to big watches... I will post a close-up pic later for you. And, yes, I am Swiss and live in Switzerland. I have to say that we are surrounded by Watches Boutiques in our different towns but got interrested in Rolexes only last year ! And, I go now on the Forum almost every day.

^ Now that is a well loved piece w/many stories to tell I’m sure!

It’s a brisk day here so far. We’re at the end of peak Autumn foliage. Yesterday it was in the 30’s w/light snow but it didn’t last long. A long trail walk is on my agenda today, as I’m meeting up w/my sister at a regional park.

* What weekend plans are in store for you Coffeeshop members? *
