Yeah. I've had 2 Genies in 20 years but since reading this thread I had to put a cover over it so the neighbors won't think I'm cheap.

Mine is so quiet that I always go the the door when the neighbors door goes up thinking my wife finally just came home with my dinner.

And I can open my door from Hawaii. I just call home and say Betty open the damn garage door. Betty is the pet sitter.

I have an older Craftsman Opener but I use Nexx Home App so that I can open/close remotely from my smart phone.

I had a Lift Master in the 90’s and it was garbage. It had a nylon gear that would only last about a year and had to be replaced. After replacing it three times, the next time the gear wore out the opener went in the garbage an was replaced with a Genie. My current house has two Genie screw-drive openers that are over 10 years old with zero problems (knocking on wood).

Finally some sanity on this thread.

Don, ya listening????

In all honesty the first time I heard of Lift Master, I thought it was something short people wore in their shoes or perhaps the only guy in the shop allowed to drive the fork lift.

Live and learn.

Late to the party but im surprised nobody said Sommer Garage door openers. Made in Germany, Life time warranty, super quiet, no belts or chains to break. Best thing is they arent expensive.

Installed one on my old wood double door and was blown away on how quick and quiet it was.
