I like the Apple chose a GMT watch face as a nod to history. However, it’s not necessarily the best solution for smartwatches. On some Apple Watch faces, you can make each complication a time zone in addition to the local time. By doing this, you can check the time zone at a glance.
IIRC, on the Infograph watch face, you can have up to seven time zones in addition to the local time. |

So awesome that Apple went air, land and sea on their watch faces. I feel like these are common complications, but I am not sure the average person (who might even own these types of watches) know what they are for. The fact that Apple incorporates them is great, considering Apple doesn’t do complicated.
They also made it idiot proof (not per OP’s link), but honestly... well done apple!! They call the “Pepsi” color option slate blue and watermelon. Taking shots at Rolex’s color scheme?
