M.a.d.1 red raffle

In case anyone is interested the M.A.D. Gallery is doing a new raffle for the M.A.D. 1 Red. The raffle is open from January 16th through March 5th. I didn’t win one last time so I’m hoping this time I’m able to get one. I put the link below which I hope is OK.

having the raffle open this long is idiotic. By next week this will be on all major non watch outlets advertising how to make a quick flip

It's not a raffle to win a watch... it's a raffle to win the opportunity to buy a watch from them. And, it's still a very, very long shot at being selected.

Thanks OP! Am sure many will enter for their chance.

Or skip the lines... and buy an MB&F timepiece. Then you can get both the Red and Blue if you desire.

Wonder if my Red will be shipping with this raffle batch. I was quoted March 2023 when I ordered.

I’d love to own an MB&F but sadly it’s not in the cards for me for the foreseeable future. I’m definitely hoping to get one of these so I can at least get small taste of the MB&F flair without the cost.

Also I love the wrist shot! It just seems like such a fun and enjoyable timepiece.

Totally understand. Yeah, as my New England friends would say, "It's wicked fun to wear."

I love to wear mine. It is like a fidget toy on your wrist. I was sitting next to my wife and she kept complaining that I was shaking the chair as I was spinning the rotor with my wrist.

is this just one watch available or an x amount for those that are successful with the raffle?

It’s for an X amount for those that win the raffle. No idea on how many but hopefully this will be a larger batch. My understanding is that they plan to keep this going for the foreseeable future so if we don’t win this time there will be more raffles down the line.

Thanks for the heads up - wasn't successful the last time as well

just curious I believe the last raffle had a 2 week window and aprox 25K people entered - not sure how many people actually got the opportunity to buy the watch. anyone know how many watches were produced? 2500?

The current raffle has a much longer window so guessing a lot more people will participate - hopefully as others mentioned they will produce a larger batch.

I think it was said that there were ~450 watches in the first raffle.

Well I lost the raffle. That’s two years in a row of disappointment. Hope someone on here was able to win.

I won it last year and sold the watch after a week.

If it was in a shop for 1k it wouldn’t get looked at twice.

The Christopher Ward Bel Canto is more like a baby MB&F than the MAD1. The MAD1 is a very low quality watch unfortunately.

Unfortunately also unsuccessful in the raffle for the second time. Oh well…I have a purple Bel Canto incoming (no raffle needed) and have this gorgeous AP on my wrist which will hopefully bring a little cheer to those also unlucky.

I know it’s not the best quality but I can’t do an MB&F and I just wanted something that was tied to the brand in some way. Plus it just seemed fun.

Excited to say that I was successful! Apparently my luck in watch lotteries is much better than my luck trying for Master's tickets each year. Order is in, now the anticipation builds

Congrats to those who got a chance to get one. Love mine big time. Agreed it is not a true MB&F in build quality/movement, so for those who desire that quality should visit their AD.

I disagree with the comment that the MAD Red is a low quality watch, quite the contrary. I bought one from a dealer couple months ago and it really catches the eye, well finished and has received quite a number of compliments. In terms of looks there's not much out there that's similar and I've handled a number of MB&F at their showroom here in HK.

In fact it's received more compliments than my other watches (AP, Piaget, Rollies, JLC etc)

Felt the exact same way and was super excited until I unboxed it.

Ultimately it depends what the price means to you which is different for everyone but for me it was too much for something to sit in the box and never get worn.

Oh my, you should wear it. Love wearing mine as it is very light and comfortable to wear. Like our HK friend above, the M.A.D.1 gets more compliments than any other timepiece when worn. The finishing on the Red is wonderful, though yes for those who want MB&F quality, you'll need to get an MB&F of course.

Wear them
