PayPal or Bankwire
I’m a new member of this forum, and have a question for all the sellers here, or everyone with an opinion: I’ve noticed that a lot of the watches for sale ads state that “PP can be used by established members”. PayPal is widely used and have been around for a while. It protects both buyers and sellers, and buyers, and the buyers pay a fee to use this type of payment. So why “only the established members”? I guess that’s my question. Thanks in advance.

Coz unscrupulous buyers can use the system and initiate chargebacks. 'Established members' with a track record of successful buying and selling are more reliable and less likely to scam an unfortunate seller.

^^^ This. Search here and WatchUSeek and you’ll see the stories of the bad buyers returning used watches after 5.5 months after the deal was done due to suspected personal financial issues and PP siding with the buyer, or the buyer who had one for a few weeks and then says it stopped working but was found to have ordered a replacement crown from the manufacturer. Abuse of the PP system by bad buyers is why I only take wire transfer.

x2 + 1 additional reason.
At times unscrupulous buyers will fund the PP payment via a credit card and the seller now has dual liability. The buyer can challenge via the CC and PP has no option but debit the seller’s account. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

How, exactly, do PayPal policies protect a seller? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
