Travel Case Thoughts/Opinions

Hey everyone! I have been on the hunt for a nice travel case for my day date/GMT. I tried one of the watch pods but I didn’t like how it held the watch. Any thoughts on this Shinola? It’s a little bit pricy but seems like a decent option, just unsure of how much protection it really offers.

Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated!

Looks cool. Also looks like it doesn’t afford much protection.

Eleven11Prints.com makes excellent custom Pelican travel cases. Comes in single or double.
Here’s one of my singles.

I use this as traveling case. It’s a 9x9cm cylinder hard case with leather covered and suede lining plus a soft pillow.

When I travel, which is quite often, the only watch I take is the one on my wrist which never comes off. The rest are happily in my safe at home.

Thanks for your response. I usually travel wearing my Garmin, so I need at least one travel case to bring my Rolex with otherwise I’d do the same

I use a watch pod type case for travel, but I like this.

This is the best one I have seen. Anyone see a US equivalent?

I own this exact case as well and I'd highly recommend for a travel case. This style doesn't cause the bracelet to sit on itself like the Shinola style. I also own Pelican cases but those I don't really use for travel, though they offer maximum protection. Heck they even have Helium Escape Valves on many Pelicans.

A determining factor in these cases is always, is it designed for a strap or bracelet or both.

This one seemed to fit my purpose for taking in a backpack. I have a single roll from JLC and a flat one from JLC in addition to the flat four case that wont work with bracelets.

Exactly the reason I got this and stopped using the flat four section case I have.

Do you actually put these cases in your checked luggage or in your carry on?

I would never put anything valuable in checked baggage, ever.

I would have a hard time believing that anyone else would either.
