48oz. At Don Shula's. They engrave your name on a plaque if you can do it.

Google The Big Texan in Amarillo, TX
They have a 72 oz steak. If you can eat it plus shrimp cocktail, salad, baked potato in one hour time limit the meal is free and you are forever recognized on their wall of fame/website with your name, hometown, height, weight and time meal was consumed. |

I did the 40 oz tomahawk at Ruths Chris a few years ago with side of fries and king crab legs. Polished it all off and almost instantaneously (literally in the parking lot) had a gall bladder attack thereafter (stone lodged in the duct) which led to a few weeks of jaundice, multiple tests, ultrasound and eventually surgery to remove the good ole gallbladder... Really thought I was dying of a heart attack at age 34 when it was going down.
Since then I have stuck with more reasonable cuts in the ribeye family of between 16-22 ounces... Live and learn I guess... |

What's the biggest steak you've ever consumed? Fat and all...

Don’t filets need to be wet aged? Too much loss dry... What do all of the filet eaters think when steakhouse proprietors bag on filet? I enjoy it, but it’s not known to be the best steak. If you’re interested in lean cuts, you’ll maximize flavor with a hanger steak (onglet). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanger_steak A relatively unknown prize is Piedmontese beef. It’s a breed of cattle from Italy that have a naturally occurring mutation - a second copy of an allele that is responsible for making the meat simultaneously leaner and more tender without as much marbling and connective tissue. I had it once (in Kansas City I believe). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piedmontese_cattle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love a good steak. To me, nothing beats a Ribeye.
I have had several 16 - 24oz cuts, but I have never tried to push it past that. I enjoy the wine, salad, and sides too much to eat a huge steak and nothing else.

A Tomahawk..years ago at Gibsons Chicago. I will out eat any man under 200 lbs in a single sitting. I think that is about half a stick of butter melting on top.

I thought the same when I visited. I mustered maybe 4 minimally palatable oz here. The shrimp cocktail looked offputting. IMO the place is amusing tourist trap, but a laughable attempt at a dining experience.

I prefer quality smaller 6oz - 8oz Filet Mignon steak.

did a 48oz tomahawk on holiday last year, although 1/4 of that was probably bone weight. Amazing bit of meat, went to bed after that though, couldn't even think of going out drinking

Apparently, the world record holder for largest steak eaten is a woman.

The largest steak I've personally consumed was ~20oz. My normal is more along the lines of a 9oz filet. In Argentina with a co-worker in 2018, I watched in awe as he devoured a 2kg (70oz) slab of meat without missing a beat. He is not a huge guy
