How about some deployment pics

Let's keep the thread clean to keep in line with TRF rules, so no things that go bang - but otherwise, how about some deployment pics?

Here are a couple from my 2 deployments to Kuwait / Iraq back in 2010, where I flew as part of a Navy air ambulance detachment.

Not the greatest quality, but can't bring the nicest cameras while deployed!

Didn't some guy in the navy got in trouble for posting pics of the inside of a ship?

If you want more detailed pics of the cockpit, you can find them on google. I don't think it's too big a deal.

Haha, looks like TRF got rid of the old "fix". I remember in the past that if I typed in deployment, it auto-corrected to deployant. That was annoying.

I wish I had some good ones. No real deployment ones.

I’ll have to track some down. Most of them have been buried away god know where. I use to have some really good ones of a lot of the pacific islands when I was stationed in Okinawa. Use to make my rounds to some interesting places regularly.

I’ll have to find my pics of Iwo Jima and Mt. Suribachi.

Had some of the water and beaches around Diego Garcia, and Kwajalein too, but I feel like those are probably buried somewhere deep in the depths of my picture archives. Obviously have a bunch others as well from other various islands, but always felt the most remote ones were the most interesting.

Now's a great time to pull them out and reminisce!

JP, Dave, thanks for sharing, cool pictures.
Was a hard time during the troubles I believe.

Never been in the service myself, started 40 years ago at my 17th in the merchant marine. Still there
