Looking for 6538 Submariner 3075XX

Looking for new owner of a 6538 Submariner that I sold in St.Paul,MN
on April 17th of this year, Serial 3075XX. Trying to recoup $ from an unscrupulous AD. Any info would be greatly appreciated:crossd007@comcast.net.
Thanks-David

Have you tried talking to their watchmaker Dennis Sager?
BTW, that commercial on their homepage is hideous. A huge turnoff

I think you got some good advice on VRF as well...............

a couple of months ago, a willing buyer (the AD)made an offer to to a willing seller (you) on a sale of the watch for $4,500...This offer was accepted...... i fail to see where the lack of scrupules applies

move on......life is too short !!!

Sled-dog:
I have many specifics on how all this went down and would be glad to email those
specs or send in private message but forum seems to block my efforts.
I can be reached at crossd007@comcast.net if care to respond.

if I am not mistaken this was posted here a few months back. It seems this gentlemen found a watch in his fathers possesions and went to a watchmaker who made him an offer which he took and after finding out it is worth more than he got he wants it back.

While I beleive he did get the short end of the deal, I fail to see what he is trying to accomplish. he made a deal before he did research, buyer beware also means seller beware.

Seller beware, but if you sold it and the buyer doesn't want to sell it back to you then you are up the proverbial creek mate without propulsion....

If you made the choice to sell a watch to somebody for x amount of dollars only to find out latter the buyer may have sold it for more money what do you want from the buyer or the new owner of the watch?I have bought dozens of watches from AD's and they dont know vintage and usually pay $1500-2k for a SS plastic sport watch. Some aren't worth that and they win some and loose some. They are in business to make money BTW.How much? As much as they can. I was at a we buy gold place today and an older lady had 50 morgan silver dollars they told her these are no longer in circulation and offered her .50 each and she took it. I almost threw up and when I tried to tell her she knew everything and wanted cash now. They are worth in melt around 26.00 each. Did they take advantage of her? IMHO yes but she decided to take the money rather than walk out the door to look for a higher offer. Now if she finds out they were sold for 26.00 thats 50 times more than they payed her, does she pound sand ? can she do anything? Lesson learned do your homework BEFORE selling or BUYING so YOU dont get burned.

Are you telling me you let them do that to that lady? I sure hope not. That is horrible. Shame on you if you did.

Even if you DO find the NEW owner of the watch, what do you intend on doing? Asking them to 'pony up' what you feel you've been shortchanged due to your own lack of homework? Sorry, the deal is done. Move on...

When in somebody's store Niko you have manners. You don't step in and offer more or steal a customer.I stepped out of line and I told her she was nuts that silver was around $26.00 an ounce quietly behind her and she said stay out of my business this is personal I need cash. Enough for me to hear, some people know it all and you become a fool to save them. Its not shame on me... My whole point of writing this is Buyers and sellers of anything need to spend time to find out what they are buying or selling to make sure they are getting a fair deal those that dont do this stand to get ripped off.

Fair enough then, at least you warned her. I would have done the same, I would never think of offering her more or anything for that matter, that's just wrong but I sure as hell wouldn't do business in that place ever again. I also would make sure and mention to the thief behind the counter exactly what I thought of him before I walked out. Terrible people out there. What if we all acted that way Nikos? One thing is manners, but this guy didn't deserve any manners. Sorry.

No I don't expect a dime from new owner. I just need a verifiable time of purchase and seller's name as supposedly watch went to collector/dealer and to yet another collector.
I have talked to at least one collector who offered 35K for my watch and offer was declined. I believe watch was sold in late June or early July.

Sounds like a bad story with a bad ending. That is why you have to do your homework and when you do not know what you are doing--go find out and learn. Unfortunately lesson learned the hard way vs. upfront pre-mistake. It is what it is--and you have no recourse. In life sometimes one has to let go and move forward--that is what appears to me to be your only option.

Sorry, it is not "your watch" as you agreed to a deal and sold it. Do yourself a huge favor and move and as you have no legal recourse in this matter. We have all done bad deals at one time or another, the key is to learn from it.

I couldn't agree more, furthermore this should be a lesson to all potential sellers out there. Do your homework prior to negotiating a deal.
