My first 1950: 320 !!!!

After hours, and hours on this forum -and others - reading about the different options for a GMT in the Panerai family, I finally decided to get the 320. I know it is not a full 24-hour GMT, but I like it much better than the PAM 88 for several reasons:

- 1950's case.
- In House movement.
- Cleaner dial.
- Hide-away GMT hand while not traveling.
- And the most important one: Ability to change the LOCAL time in 1 hour increments without having to stop the movement.

I would have been happy with the 88 if I had been able to move the local hour without stoping the movement, but in the 88, it is the GMT hand that moves in 1-hour clicks without hacking, which for me, didn't make much sense while traveling.

I just got it today, BNIB, in all its glory.

It is a hefty watch. After trying it at a local dealer earlier in the week, I was a little concerned about it being a little top heavy, and a little larger than I am used to (my daily watch is a 42mm Rolex Explorer II). But after I put it on, I just couldn't stop smiling. It is a BEAUTIFUL watch, with lots of character, and many "hidden" jewels, like the power reserve on the back, the second hand "0-reset hack" and the hide-away GMT hand.

As much as I loved my Exp II, it will soon be on the classifieds section here, as I am pretty much a one watch guy, despite having had a good collection in the past. I rather have a single watch that I love, than many in a rotation. I guess I am in a minority here...

Anyways, with the easy to use quick strap release button, and a good assortment of straps, it is like having multiple watches in one.

And without further ado, here it is...!!!!

Congrats! although I prefer pam 88, pam 320 is good too because of 1950 in house movement.

Lookin' good! Big congrats. Is there a cleaner GMT out there? I don't think so.

What I like about it is the fact that you actually have to know how to use a second timezone function yourself to make use of it.

Congrats, great watch, couldn't agree more about the hideaway GMT hand, on my 233 it's allways hidden, even when I travel, I just change the time and that's it, anyways I usually travel to Russia or Ukraine, so I know it's 1 or 2 hours less in Paris, if I travelled to places where it's 7-10 hours difference I guess I would use it.

Again congrats

Thank you all!

@lapince it's funny, but when I travel to other time zones with only a couple of hours difference, I actually like to use the GMT feature to see the third hand out there once in a while...

Accuracy update: 9 days later I am only +3sec TOTAL gain! I read the test charts for my watch and it showed that resting crown up was the slowest position, so now the watch may gain a couple if seconds during the day, but by laying it crown up it would lose those same seconds overnight, making this a nice self-regulation solution.

And today I am receiving 4 new straps!
