First PAM - > 305 ... kinda disappointed
got my first PAM - traded in my Deepsea + got some cash and picked up a 305.
Gotta day - little disappointed PROs: looks boss. Almost every guy who knows watches, (or doesn't) loves it. Every single woman i meet comments on my watch. (Including my GF who constantly praises it) - total comments on my deepsea? Zip. (Except for people asking me if it was real) I like that it's not as well known as Rolex/people (In Canada at least at least) don't assume it's fake....the american's i work with tell me NY is very different. possibly the greatest weekend watch of all time... both positives. Negatives - it doesn't fit under ANYTHING i wear in business Suit Shirt anything with cufflinks. Brutal. Probably going to trade it for an IWC 8 day Yacht club if i can find one..... love it, but as i have other things to save for right now (as the GF reminds me) as my daily it's somewhat lacking.... *disappointed in Toronto sadly* Know anyone who wants a 305? |

Its a 47mm case, what did you expect??? Thats big even by Panerai standards. Many move the button on their left arm shirts to give a bit of room. In the end, its still a 47mm watch. The Panerai standard 44mm case is the do it all size.

Don't do it! The 305 rules. A very good-looking, manly pam.

It's an outstanding weekender. What you need is a weekday watch. The solution isn't selling the 305... it's buying another watch for M-F!

I agree with mike. I'll wear my 15300 or EXI with suits and rock my 372 on the weekends

This is a good lesson, before you buy you have to try it first on your wrist and lots of research.

Just like kilyung and hairdude1 stated you need a m-f watch and use the 305 on the weekends. Don't sell the 305 unless you really dislike it.

What are you disappointed in? The watch is 47mm and at least as thick as the DSSD. And it's supposed to be that big. I just don't see how one can blame the watch here.

actually you should keep it. i would love to be in your shoes and righteously rock it.
but it is too big for a daily wear. get an exp1. that combo would be cool. |

Consider a 372? I wear mine 47mm 372 M to F and DSSD for weekend.

Keep it, and get a weekday watch. Rolex DJ, explorer, milgauss or something cooler like a JLC or a Portuguese Chrono (the old one)
It cash is tight, get a used zenith, or an omega aquaterra or seamaster |

If you like larger sport watches that still fit under the cuffs, why not try on an Explorer2 or a Sub. The datejust2 is a nice dressy alternative with great wrist presence. Good luck! |

People notice it because it is big! Bottom line. If you wire a Patek, no one would comment.
Agree with Mike, Travis, etc. It is not an everyday say for you. Solution is to get an everyday watch.

Super cool watch but for sure not one that will go with everything. Sort of like buying a tank and then being disappointed it can't win a grand prix.
Sorry you are disappointed it is big for sure but it is a 47MM monster on your arm.

lol you should keep the 305 and love it.. It's a very unique great looking watch. If you sell it, you will find yourself buying another one later down the road.

You even said " possibly the greatest weekend watch of all time" so you should probably keep it. Even if it doesn't fit under shirt cuffs, it still looks good with a suit. Here's mine on my favorite M-F combo.

I think once the initial size is addressed, you will be fine with it. You will find some shirts that will work with it. Think your Pam as a big wad of cash that barely fits in your wallet. What a nice problem to have.

I think a tank could win if allowed to shoot!

HAHAHA, and the 305 would fit under the cuff super easy if the OP bought bigger shirts.

If you sell it, most of the positives you like about the watch probably won't transfer to your new purchase. I would try to pick up something smaller for dress/M-F wear. Keep the 305. I love mine and wear it most of the time. Perhaps pick up a vintage Rolex GMT... fits, has history, timeless.

thanks for all the feedback - i totally agree. Even if i get rid of it, i will probably get another in the future for weekends. - but as an exec in the fashion industry having a watch that fits under a shirt cuff instead of a bolt on clock over top is probably a smart buy ;)
and if i get another watch without getting a ring for the gf, i will be out a gf hahaha Probably going 8 day hand wound IWC or trying to pick up a used JLC/ etc ... tough when you have trade to make it happen... won't go back to Rolex though PAM honestly ruined Rolex for me. (at least for a while... ah screw it i'd still get a daytona, who am i kidding) Just so much more awesome..... this watch unfortunately can't be my "One" watch :( |

Wont trade my Deep Sea for any PAM.I like the 305 and if it was in ss would have loved it.Stick with the 305 and if it still does not sing to you and you want to go the IWC route I would have a look at the Big Pilot.
