Another Daytona Scam

Here is another Daytona scam, I emailed him and asked if I could come see the watch so we could both take it to an AD to have it authenticated, here was his response....

Dear rusty974,

I am sorry but no we will not travel 4 hours for that when if you feel theres a chance then dont bid but we have a baby to tend too and we are getting ready to move out of state soon thats why we are selling these things cause we are needing the money to move june 7th

- 777ethomas

I emailed back asking for the serial number...This is a scam and it stinks bad!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123

I hope Terry sees this and reports it

I dunno, that's a tough call. He's also got a DJ. Looking at his record, it' decent, but the largest item he's sold was a ring for $187.

Strange that he wouldn't be willing to meet for inspection. That alone would make me not buy. I think people are foolish to pay thousands for a watch and not take a drive or spend a few hundred for a flight to properly inspect something.

Yeah he still won't give me a serial number, I told him this auction looked to be a scam and he got upset, I told him it should be reported to ebay...his response

Dear rusty974,

look this is my auction and not a scam just read our feedback ratings no I do not want to take more photos for someone like you I have already contacted ebay about your threats and I will contact them again and give them all of what they want and more just not you.

- 777ethomas

Look at his feedback, while it was good it was for all these small ticket items, nothing large, now he has 4 Rolexes up for auction, take notice to the Sub, he refers to it as a datejust, so he seems to be clueless....

Look at the photo of the certificate, this is not Rolex and it is such a small photo...

Question - Why would you have a TT Sub at a buy it now of $6,000, a TT DJ with a buy it now of $3,500 and a ladies TT DJ with a buy it now of $5,500 but start a DAYTONA at $1500, hmmmm

I hope the TerryNator gets to see all of these auctions

I did see all of the watches. I also agree that I think all of them are scams. There are three of the watches that have visible engravings on the backs of the watches, the certificates look like nothing I've ever seen, the one TT Submariner looks like three different pictures as well as an engraved back. I reported every single one of these watches.

- 777ethomas

What a scam, I can't wait for the other 3 to be axed here soon.

He is back.......

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-1001-Oyste...QQcmdZViewItem

You have to love these statements in the auction....

"This watch is brand new never worn its perfect."

Then he says...

"please note that item will be shipped 5-7 days after auction ends as so it can be serviced and appraised by a local rolex jeweler."

Ok why are you having it serviced if it is new never worn???

HAHA he also says...

"Please note we were having trouble w/ a ebay member and hopefully the situation is being resolved!!!! THIS IS NOT A SCAM ITS A REAL WATCH!!!!" hmm does he mean me

I reported it also. That is a funny one where it has to be serviced and appraised as a brand new watch. It smells like a dead fish.

I don't think one should even email those guys. Just adjudicate on the presented photos, descriptions and make a decision if it's reportable or not.
Unless you really want to buy from them...

Well I email them to see what other info they can give me, serial number, model number more photos and I throw in the "lets go together and get it authenticated at a Authorized Rolex Dealer" line, I want to see what they say, believe it or not some sellers will be fine with everything, because it is a real Rolex, whereas scammers, like this guy, makes up excuses why they can't give anymore photos etc.

I would hate to report an auction for being fake when it was real, maybe they just take bad photos, or didn't write a good description.

Three of this person's watches turned out to be fake, they had engravings on the casebacks, bogus looking certificates of authenticity, and lousy date magnification or pictures to verify authenticity, etc. All were pulled and he now lists the Daytona again. I believe it is also another scam and believe E-bay should stop them.

Check this out....

I was curious to see if he listed his fake Daytona again, he didn't but look at his other auctions...

This is one of them

http://cgi.ebay.com/APPLE-IPOD-MYSTE...QQcmdZViewItem

"THIS IS A MYSTERY AUCTION FOR AN APPLE IPOD. YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN ENVOLOPE THAT COULD HAVE THE WINNING TICKET IN IT OF AN APPLE IPOD BRAND NEW 32GB. OR YOU COULD WIN CASH."

What a scammer

It's been pulled. You're right, this is a horrible scam and should not have been allowed to be listed by E-Bay. They may have caught it themselves.
