Surprised to see that there are not any exhibition pieces. I know that both the WOS at the Hudson Yard mall and the Bucherer at Bryant Park have a great variety "exhibition-only" pieces, including daytona, skyd, sead, and GMTs.

Selective photos. They have four cases displaying various exhibition models.

More anti-AD / anti-Rolex propaganda.

We all know the supply/demand issue, but I don't think the empty cases hurt the brand. If that was the case they wouldn't even put the displays out. If anything it adds to the allure that the brand is a premium and exclusive which can only drive lust. Be honest with yourself....What did you expect to see?! I went into an AD last week...similar situation as expected but left lusting after the watch/watches I wanted even more. Rolex isn't dumb...They know what they are doing!

Strange - I was at that same location the first week of the US Open and they had many display models - BLNR, Two tone Daytona, Green OP41, DJ41 Azzurro, Explorer II black dial, SKydweller (can't remember dial)

Had a great experience with the sales rep.

Don't see how some AD's stay in business. Very sad indeed. At one time I knew people that would visit a AD and look at watches for months trying to decide on which one to spend there money on. And I mean THE same watches.

Now there is no use even giving them a call. Maybe they (Rolex) is holding shipments until they get enough built up so when they release them and the herd breaks down the doors there will be some left for people to actually see and buy.

It’s a nice place with a coffee bar. But i think it’s become a place to list down what you want with an SA and they’ll get back to you if they deem you worthy type thing. Last time i went they had exhibition models. Kind of an awkward experience to be honest. But i guess that goes with all Rolex ADs these days.

Not me, they have it made. Besides telling people they have to get on a list to get on a list....Rolex employees have the easiest sales job in the world and everything is is pre-sold before hitting the buyers hand, watches never make it to the display case. They enjoy the pleasure of making calls to clients to come in and pick up a watch that's sold at full msrp(no haggling or negotiating) and commission if available.

Probably the only sales people that we are literally throwing money at. Sure, I understand they don't get 100 Subs a day to sell but between the whole staff I'm sure that every employees has a share in disseminating out stock, every single Rolex model sells itself, aside from the odd 31mm DJ in full gold or weird combination.

There is a small but vocal element of anti-AD / anti-Rolex doomsayers that are turning TRF into the QAnon of the watch community. #sad

For sure, if an AD is hiring that means they need help so the sales associate is going to make out just fine.

That is seriously embarrassing that at a minimum they can't even put display dummy models out just to fill the case. What a joke

I literally lol'd at this. "I was excited to see their collection".

State of the market, especially when they don't have the display / demo pieces on hand...

They should see if any of the grey dealers want to buy those display cases!

This is a sad state of affairs. I'm thankful that there are no current references that interest me.

No point giving them a call. You need to stand out from the crowd and go in to chat to the owner even though there are no watches, make them realise you're not a douche (see numerous posts recently on this) and then you'll get the call - length of time depending on your trustworthiness and watch request. Empty cases doesn't mean any less supply - watches just never hit the shelves as they're already allocated to a customer. The myth they all go to grey just isn't substantiated. The AD is still making as much profit - probably more as there are no longer discounts on DD or DJs.

Perhaps. Maybe it's just me, yet when working retail (some of it luxury, some mid, and loved the low to mid 'Big Box' too) for me part of the joy was educating the customer. Showing the customer....

So to have empty displays... yipes... less cases and reimagine the space.

Nothing much to physically show... double yipes... a sad no-show is depressing for the hopeful customer. Remember, for many the special occasion of finally getting a Rolex is one of celebrating a life achievement. Perhaps that's how it was........

No high-quality modern interactive touch-screen customer display that brings to life Rolex's prestigious history, exploration, etc.... triple yipes... wasted retail space that could be productive.

Again, perhaps it's just me as enjoyed luxury retail on many levels on both sides of the counter.
